Considering booking a room on the Zuiderdam and had a question about the rooms at the Aft of the ship - room #5184.

Is this room larger than a regular balcony room? The balcony's also look larger?? When we were on the Oosterdam, you could look down on the rooms on the Navigation deck and the balcony's were HUGE. Is this balcony like that and would it be covered from the balcony above.

What are the pros and cons of having a room at the back of the ship - I love the wake??

All comments appreciated about the room position and the Zuiderdam - we LOVED the Oosterdam!!

Thanks!:)

We had aft room 4179 on the Zui in Feb. The balcony is a nice size. There were two chairs a small square table and a lounge chair on the balcony. We enjoyed eating out there, watching the wake and seeing all behind us. The balcony was not covered and people above could look down. I was surprised when looking up and around when we were on the balcony that very few other people were out on their balcony. The people next to us were out on theirs quite a bit. My opinion might not be worth much since that was our first balcony room.

I also have this cabin booked and was wondering if it is a little larger than the other cabins (wider), as it seems to be on the deck plans.
I know the balcony is very large compared to the sides. I always book aft, so I think it is great!

Check out the two pictures about 15% of the way down this page, they should help you decide the size of the aft verandas compared to others.

I have a video I can email you, one for the room and one for the deck, if you like. Room is about 1:30 and the Deck is about a minute. We were in Room 6169.:o
