thanks!!

There are four ships transiting today: Coral Princess heading EB and the Amsterdam, Sea Princess, and Seven Seas Navigator all going WB. The folks on the Coral Princess will get the best views as they pass three ships in the canal one after the other. How cool would that be?!

we did repositioning cruises in 2008 and 2009 -- spring -- and saw a lot of cruise ships -- the majority of us all heading to alaska

Indeed. April and the first weeks of May are the big migration to the West coast and on to Alaska. Here is one just now of Coral Princess heading eastbound, she comes back through May 9th for her Alaska season:

Thanks for the pictures. Now she will probably be in Gatun Lake for a while until all the Atlantic bound traffic is out of the Canal and then she will proceed through to the Pedro Miguel lock and then into Miraflores Lake for about a mile and then through the Miraflores Locks and then on and under the Blvd of the Americas and out to the Pacific and then is North to the Emerald City of Seattle to begin her Alaska season.

Thanks for posting these pictures. I had meant to watch the Amsterdam going through the locks, but then forgot about it.

I'm glad you enjoyed them. Definitely a labor of love. I work midnight shifts and for me to stay up all day like that is hard. :D
