Question. Will Oceania fly you in to Barcelona a day or two ahead of embarktation and fly you out from Venica a couple of days after disembarking "without charging you more"? I heard that if you fly with them on the two for one you are charged a penalty. Just hearsay. Anyone? Thank you.

I don't think they will do this for free.

My understanding is that you request the deviation though your travel agent and Oceania will come back with a quote. If you agree you pay the admin. fee ($50) plus any extra air costs. We arranged a 1 nite stay in Barcelona and a oneweek stopover in London on our Transatalantic return and this was $50 + $250 per person.

You can choose the flights ( and airlines) that you would want to fly ( and dates and schedule) and then tell Oceania.. that is where the $50 per person comes in ( deviation) then if the flights you want cost more you will have the "option" to accept them and pay the difference if there 's one in costs.
I have read that some folks didn't have any difference in costs and got exactly what flights they wanted.

We just received an air deviation to Istanbul, as we wanted to arrive 3 days prior to the 4/15 cruise. Oceania charged us $50 deviation fee plus $70 price differential per person.

You might consider doing your own air. We wanted specific flights and extra days in Venice. Oceania gave us a credit of $600 per person in lieu of their "free" flights. I bought my own tickets from Boston to Venice and return from Barcelona for $603 and got exactly what I wanted plus I get my frequent flyer miles for sure. Check it out.

I hope that this post does not show up twice. I hit a button of sorts and my original reply vanished. Anyway, thank you all for replying. I was asking the question because our friends from another state are joining us on this trip and I am already booked with Air France. We wanted to do our own flights and Oceania did give us a total of $1,200.00 credit. We are arriving in Barcelona a day before our cruise and staying in Venice two days after. Our friends on the other hand are going with Oceania's flights. They wanted to join us pre and post cruise. I will have my friends read your posts. Thank you again.
