When will we know if our excursions are a go and not being canceled due to lack of participation? Will there be info in the stateroom when we board? Thanks!

You will not know until you are on the ship, BUT, you can call HAL's shore excursion department and ask them how many they need to operate and the numbers they have. I have tracked these a couple of times on two excursions that were important to me and were pricey so I was concerned. One was going to Albania from Corfu. At the time it was very expensive at $200.00pp (and price went up after we booked and paid). They needed 20 or 22 people. It turned out to be the best HAL excursion we have ever taken. It was too complicated and costly to put together on our own with a small roll call and no other interest. We needed to bring our passports leaving Greece, a ferry to Albania. When we got back there was a Greek tour bus waiting to take us to Corfu town for an hour walking tour. Half the people went back to the ship as they weren't expecting more touring in Greece.

But, we knew we had the numbers before we left town.

They may not make a final decision until close to when booking closes for a particular excursion. As the poster above says, though, you CAN find out how many people have booked already.

The majority of the time we have gotten a letter in our cabin that our excursions were cancelled -- sometimes there was also a note suggesting a similar excursion.

Then there have been a few times that we were notified on tours being cancelled while we were cruising -- usually due to a late arrival, etc.
