Hello, I am on the Silver Spirit Rome Barcelona cruise June 2-11. I have taken a couple of Mediterranean cruises but this is my first with Silversea. When you are arriving in Rome? Are you planning to take any independent tours. We are considering to take an independent tour on June 8 (Livorno) to Siena and San Gimignano and looking for another couple or two to share cost.

First time posting . . . . husband and I will be on the Spirit Rome/Barcelona, beginning 6/2/11. While we have made plans for Livorno (Lucca half day shore excursion), I'm interested in seeing if anyone would entertain the idea of doing an all day tour thru an outside service that I have contacted that would encompass St. Paul de Vence, Nice, Eze, then back to Monte Carlo. Price is based on van, 8 people max, so it would benefit us all to have several people. Any interest, please post.

Those are must see places and some of my most favorite. If you feel like splurging, have lunch on the terrace of the Chateau de la Chevre d'Or in Eze and enjoy the view!

Lucca is a very good choice. I have been there two years ago. I might consider the tour from Monte Carlo, but I have been a few times to Nice. I will let you know in a few days.

Thanks for the suggestion Emtbsam as well as the confirmation from manasr that Lucca was a good choice. Manasr, we have made other arrangements since I posted, so will be going a different path while at the Riviera. Perhaps we can meet up during the cruise to say hello, tho don't know how that would work via this forum. But if we don't, cheers and have a great cruise!
