For the life of me I can't figure out what the difference is between casual and informal.
Formal wear I've got down - long black dress. But are pants okay on informal nights and capris on casual? And what about for my husband?
I'd hate to be underdressed. Where can I find the guidelines that spell this out?

There are several threads floating around on this, and we are planning this way:
Formal - Dark suit or Tux for men, gowns or very dressy dresses for the ladies
Informal - Jacket and tie for men, dresses or nice suits for ladies
Casual - Slacks and collared shirt for men, and nice casual clothes for the ladies, including nice capris and such.
Hope that helps

Just think of informal as semi-formal and you'll be OK.

When we were on the Millennium we saw many capris on casual nights. Guys were wearing mostly docker type pants and golf shirts. Pants on informal night would be ok as long as you dress them up with a fancy top and great jewelry. Guys were wearing sport coats and most had ties. I remember my first cruise and how I was so concerned with what to wear. You really shouldn't stress that much over it. If in doubt, go a little fancier and you will be ok. Remember, no shorts anytime. It drives the fashion patrol crazy. Have a great cruise, I'm sure you will both look terrific.
