Anyone just got off Westerdam / have information about the ship. Going on 5/28th and is a little worry about that incident they have up at the glaciers.

HAL would not sail an unsafe ship. The Coast Guard would not allow an unsafe ship to continue sailing.

My husband and I sailed on the Westerdam on the repositioning cruise in late April. She has a few bumps and bruises but nothing that would impact the operation of the ship of your cruise or passenger safety. I hope you have a wonderful time in Alaska on the Westerdam and see lots of whales.

I am sailing this coming Saturday, and there is nothing wrong with the ship other than a slight dent below the water surface. There is absolutely nothing that will impact and or change your cruise in any way. :)

Enjoy your cruise, Lisa. I'll be following you on the Oosterdam leaving Sunday. I hope to make it to the waterfront to see the ships leave, but it all depends on how quickly we make it in from the airport on Saturday for our Sunday cruise.

We were on the Westerdam when it hit the iceberg. The ship is fine and the crew WONDERFUL. This cruise far exceeded my expectations. You will have a fantastic time.

I wonder how you go about fixing a dent in the hull of the ship? They can't exactly get a big hammer and bang it out...:rolleyes:

The Westerdam sounds wonderful! Just booked her & HAL for the first time. Any suggestions on what we should know? Really interested in their spa pass. Can we find menus anywhere? And what is the entertainment like?
