How about this combination:
Celebrity's Millennium: Vancouver to Seward (includes Icy Strait Point and Hubbard Glacier + the usual ports)
17 June 2011 -- 24 June 2011
Spend two nights in Seward/Kenai area 24 June 2011 -- 26 June 2011
Holland America's Statendam: Seward to Vancouver (includes College Fjord, Glacier Bay, Haines + the usual ports)
26 June 2011 -- 3 July 2011.
The Millennium goes for $549 inside cabin and the Statendam is $599 inside cabin.
R/T air to Vancouver is less than $500 + a couple of nights in hotels; I could stretch this out to a pretty nice 18 day vacation!
I guess this is an example of why I should quit long term planning!?
Enjoy!

No Glacier Bay, but Kodiak does look like fun! I like mixing up the ships!:) In addition, wandering around the Kenai is special. Plus -- $350 cheaper!

Interesting approach, I have done B2B but never even thought about different lines. That seems like a great price.

I function on a basic premise....longer is better, 14 better than 7 and 21 better than 14 etc......
It is however far nicer and more relaxing to book all on the same ship... breaking it up to 2- 7 day cruises will be pretty much lile a 7 day cruise
getting used to a ship, staff to you, the mood and flow that you get by day #6 will be lost if you change ships and lines..
Price is only somewhat important...experience IS major. To relax and enjoy rather than hustle from one to the other to the other...... while the total # of days will be great the sum of the experience will not ,in my opinion
Also many lines will give additional discounts when booking multiple segments that the ships sail....like an additional 5 to 10% in fare reduction or increase in onboard benifits, or cabin up grade.
ASK The company will want to keep a passenger on the same ship/line as much as possible.
