Our cruise ends in Vancouver CA. We have a flight from Vancouver to NC via Chicago. Do we clear customs upon disembarkation from the ship in Vancouver, or in the airport in Vancouver? Or do we have to clear customs in Chicago between connections (God forbid!). Can anyone out there clarify this for us? Thanks so much.

You go through Immigration in Vancouver when you get off the ship. At that time you hand in your Canadian Customs Form, and that's all there is to it. That's the way it was for us a couple of weeks ago.

You go through Canada Customs at the pier, when you get off the ship, and US Customs at the airport. Once you have gone through US Customs at the airport when you leave Vancouver, you don't have to go through it again in Chicago.

Thanks for the info....by the way I just realized I typed Vancouver CA (meaning Canada not California!). Oops. I am glad we clear in Vancouver and not at the first point of entry (Chicago). The connections are tight enough as it is...!

I assumed that you meant Vancouver, Canada, as the only other Vancouver is in Washington state. Have a great cruise!
