Considering "J" inside cabins on the main deck for their size. How do these accommodate 4 people? They look to have an oddly shaped sofa. Is it a sofa bed or are we looking at 2 pullmans?

With one pullman down, can the beds still be pushed into a queen or do they have to be twins?

The couch sleeps one and a bunk comes down over the head of the 'queen/king'.
If you check the 'sticky' at the top of the page, under Oosterdam, there is a picture of an inside quad on Main deck. the couch and bunks are not open, but you can see the rectangle over the bed that would be the bunk. I think I have seen pictures of the bunk down on cruisedeckplans.com, but that is a pay site to see the pictures. EM

Thanks. I've seen photos but none of them have the couch pulled out. It seems like an odd shape to be a pull-out. Does the table in front of it move away somewhere? Almost looks like it's anchored into the floor.

Still wondering about the beds with the pullman down. Can they be a queen or do they have to be two twins?

I've stayed in these cabins many times, on several ships.

As you enter the cabin the couch is to one side, the bath to the other. The couch extends straight for the width of a twin bed, then starts to curve, ending at the end of the desk. Two adults can sit on it comfortably.

The bed opens up heading toward the foot of the queen bed. There are a table, chair, and ottoman that need rearranging---yes, all can be moved. The ottoman will fit under the desk, or the chair can be pulled under it; not both. The table and chair can be moved in front of the closet doors, but then those are blocked. It would be advisable to consider having at least one of the pieces of furniture removed.

The queen beds can be made up as a queen; consider asking that the "head" of the bed be put at the closet end, so that the pull-down is over the "foot". That way you don't bang your head when sitting up.

With all these beds open it's a tight path along the sides, and to the bathroom.

Excellent... thank you so much! Is it actually possible to get to the bathroom with the sofabed out or do you have to climb over the sofabed? We're all pretty petite, so we only need a narrow walkway. :)

Also, any advice on noise issues? Sounds like there can be some with a club overhead? Wondering if in certain cabins it's not as noticeable.

Thanks again!

I stayed alone in the cabin, so the beds weren't open. But it was easy to see where everything would go. So, yes there will be a narrow path between the bed and the bath. There would have to be, as that's the space where the cabin door is, and also, there has to be room to open the bathroom door.
There should be a narrow space between the foot of the pull-out sofa bed and the main bed.

:confused:You said Main Deck. There's no Club HAL down there; it's up on a high deck.
I've been near the mid-ship area, and also near the showlounge. No noise from either. The only possible source of noise is the Northern Lights Disco above some cabins. I was there once; didn't hear a thing. The Queen's Lounge closes down early (11:00 PM), so that shouldn't be a source of noise, either.

Super, thanks. Our hesitation with other standard inside cabins (on HAL and others) is that with the sofa bed out you can't get to the bathroom without climbing over it. Makes sense that the different room arrangement would require the bathroom door to open out to where the bed is (I hope!).

Yes, I meant a night club not the kids club! I've read reports that the bands in the Queens Lounge can be quite noisy with loud bass. 11pm is late when you have two kids needing to go to bed- especially since we're in the Eastern Time Zone here! What about the casino? Any noise from that? Clanking slot machines late into the night? Any suggestions for specific rooms to pick?

Thanks again!

It does. It doesn't open up flat against the wall, either, as it does on other classes of ship. It opens to a right angle to the wall---as does the cabin door, except the cabin door opens to the couch.

Oh, and there is such a thing as "standard" insides; they are teeny-tiny. These cabins are termed "large" insides, and they are about the largest of the large.

The loud bass is more in the disco, and, as I said, I didn't hear that the time I was further forward, and on port side. I never heard a thing from the casino, either.
I prefer starboard, close to the mid-ship elevators. It's further away from most of the nightspots. Yes, it is under the Queens Lounge, but that room really isn't noisy, and some nights is empty.
