Does anyone know if promos such as the American Express platinum onboard credit can be combined with other promos offered by HAL (such as 267) ?
Also, are most promos only for 7 + day cruises?
Thanks, in advance! :-)

Promos are usually not combinable, but you can always try. Every now and then I read where someone was successful it getting more than one.
Can't help with the 7+ days question since most of Hal's cruises are 7+ days. There are very few that are less.

If you do a search for the Am Ex Platinim Promo you should find more information. If you pay for your cruise with an AM Ex Platinum card, you get some onboard credit. I do know that the card has to be one of the "real" Am Ex Platinum cards (the ones that have a $350+ annual fee), not one of the Delta or Costco Am Ex Platinum Cards.
Has anyone else attempted to combine promos? Been successful?
Thanks for the info.!

I've just finished final details on a 7 day Zuiderdam cruise. We were able to get the $300 ship board credit for the AMEX Plat. We also got the HAL 276 credit of $100.
AAA was also offering a $50 SB credit for this particular sailing. Unfortunately, it was not combinable (is that a word?) with the AMEX. The AAA and 276 credit could be combined, but when I put AMEX in the mix, then AAA said no. By the way, I'm always able to get the AMEX credit even though I never book through them.
Since this booking is being made just 30 days prior to sailing, I'm paying way too much for the mini suite. I'm happy to get all the SB credits I can.

Dawson -- thanks for the information!!
Can you give me any details about the HAL 276 promo? Is it $100 per person or $100 combined for two people?
Did you try to obtain the promo 267, which is being discussed in another thread here?
Have you combined promos in the past or is this your first time? I'm wondering if we are able to get the "okay" now, pre-cruise, but if there are any problems with them once onboard.
Thanks, in advance! :-)

Sorry, fingers were just dyslexic. It is promo 267.
Yes, we have been able to combine promotions in the past. Usually I gather all the possible options for promotions, give them all to the TA and let her figure out which way nets us the most money. I ask very little of this TA as I do all the homework myself. So, she is more than happy to spend a few minutes figuring out what the best option is for me.
Getting a $300 SB credit makes the yearly fee of the AMEX Plat a little easier to swallow.
Good Luck,

Has anyone else been told Promo 267 is only good for new bookings made after March 1?

Just went to pick up docs for my 4/2 sailing. Voucher only listed $300 SB credit (from AMEX Plat card). AAA agent called for clarification and was told AMEX promo could not be combined with 267 promo.
Agent gave name of HAL rep who advised that AAA promo could not be combined with AMEX, but never mentioned 267. Well the short story is that the rep from HAL was not very nice and would not honor both promos. In fact she even asked my agent how I found out about 267 promo. HAL said this was not common knowledge for the public and seemed very put out that I knew about it. My agent told HAL that I was a very knowledgeable shopper (thank you CC for all the info gleaned over the years!).
HAL rep finally admitted that there MAY be some times when promos can be combined, but not this time.
As an answer to the previous post. This cruise was purchased prior to March 1 (Feb 25th to be exact) and the 267 promo applied.

Can you give me some more information about the "AAA promo"? Is this a promo offered because you booked through a AAA TA or is it a promo offered simply because you are a AAA member?
Thanks!

AAA has promo offers on certain sailings when you book with them. I have no idea how these promo's are offered, you would just have to ask if it is available for the sailing date you are interested in.
Just as an FYI, I have used AAA travel for the last 15 years. They have always been able to match or beat any price I have ever found on line. The one exception was a 2004 Baltic cruise on Celebrity. The Lord was obviously looking out for me on that one. AAA said the price I found was lower than what they paid. The agent where I booked (on line company) was even surprised at the price and thought it was a mistake. The computer told her the price was right, so she finally sold it to me.
Good luck with what ever you end up booking.

Hi I booked through AAA travel But I am a AAA Member,so I don't reaaly know. I had used this TA at AAA before. But the information came on a flyer through the mail. I took the information to the AAA office and she called Holland America ,while I waited. I have learn to keep all the information in a folder. If they have any questions, I can bring the informaiton again.
