There are three different cards: (yes they are physical "debit" type cards.)
One for alcohol drinks, wine, beer etc. you by for $90 you get $100 in value (save 10%) or for $45 you get $50.
Beverage card covers all other beverages, coffees etc. (same pricing)
Soda card for $25 you get $50 value (about 22 sodas after tax/tip) Full 12oz cans.

With the soda card does this have to be pre-purchased or can it be purchased on board.
If I order online before we travel, does this get added to our onboard account - or is it debited from my creditcard as a seperate transaction.
I am trying to avoid extra fees on my creditcard as get charged for each international transaction, so would prefer just 1 debit at the end of the cruise..
Thanks

You can either order it ahead of time (I would select "deliver at Sea" to avoid local taxes where applicable) or purchase on board from any bar server/tender or your wine steward.
If you order online your card will be charged at the time of the transaction.
You could buy "blocks of OBC" $100 per prior to your cruise and make any purchase aboard from that pre-paid credit.

It should be waiting for you in your cabin when you arrive. Beware, if you are planning to buy additional cards onboard, that depending on whether you are in port or at sea, you may be charged additional tax. Buy at sea.

Doing a 12 day cruise starting on Friday and that alcohol drink card looks like a good deal. Of course, I maybe chugging down those drinks on the tail end of the cruise!!

No need to chug it down:D As opposed to the old drink cards you can turn in the cards for a proportional credit towards your bill. (ie. if you have $40 left you will get 90% of that applied as an obc - as you only paid 90%).;)

Thank you. I stand corrected. :) Tom
