Wondered if anyone has ever joined a pub crawl about a Holland America cruise? How long did it last and does everyone have to sample the same type of drinks at the different venues?

We have never done the crawl but we have observed it on two different Eurodam cruises.
It was a total hoot and they seemed to have a blast.
Each bar prepares a set cocktail and they are on the bar waiting for them as the group enters. Needless to say, as the crawl continues, it gets a bit sillier and louder and more 'convivial'.
We were dining with a senior Officer in Pinnacle the night of the Pub Crawl and we were having a drink in Pinnacle Bar first. As we heard the group approaching, we moved on over to the restaurant to give them room to play and party. :)
On a cruise previous to that, DH and I were off in the corner of Crows Nest having a drink and heard a loud "Hi Ho, Hi Ho" song such as the seven dwarfs. We didn't have a clue what was happening but soon learned as they all entered and claimed their drinks the bartenders had just finished preparing.

Have done this and agree with S7S above. On ours the spa staff and dancers joined in. The bar manager led the affair from bar to bar. You got 5 tickets to start the trip and you turned one in at each venue for your drink. Extra shots for your birthday, first cruise, youngest, oldest etc. Last one to finish at each bar was wrapped in TP. The last stop everyone had to "crawl" into the disco.
Great fun, lasted 1.5 hours+, the group became more entertaining as the event went on. Cost was $20, I think. Full sized and strength cocktails, different at each bar. You will learn a song and the secret handshake. Would only do this on a night before a sea day, the next morning will not come early.

Not our thing but they seemed to be very popular on our last two HAL cruises, especially when we were in Europe and there were lots of Brits participating. Good to see things liven up a bit on usually more sedate evenings with HAL.

I did one while on the Oosterdam last March, in fact during St. Patrick's day. That was the evening we left Cabo and the second formal night. We started at the Crow's Nest, then went to four other bars, a different drink for each venue. We were given five tickets, which were to be given to the bartender when getting a drink. Each participant carried a glow stick. Certain words pertaining to a certain condition after alcohol consumption cannot be mentioned or the person who hears it can take your glow stick away. Basically, you can't say "I'm drunk," and other variations of the same. At each venue, we would toast and/or sing drinking songs. The whole event lasted about 1.5 hours. I had a great time and would not mind doing this again in my upcoming cruise.

Yipee! I hope they have this on our cruise on Eurodam in November- especially if my grown kids and sister come along. It's fun drinking with my big kids and having silly memories to remember.
Oh this waiting is awful and beautiful- I learn something new to do every day!

It is not our thing.
But we have observed it a few times on various ships.
The best one was on Halloween night -- everyone was dressed in costumes.
I don't like the idea of mixing drinks -- but we talked to one of the bar tenders and he said that they didn't put much alcohol in the drinks -- that was on the Zuiderdam.

I did it on my Eurodam sailing this past January and really enjoyed it. The fun factor for a solo traveller was the draw as I was able to meet & mingle with others easier than in a bar setting. Well, that and the price was good for 5 drinks.:D
Go and enjoy! :)

Both DDs and their Fiance's participated in the Pub Crawl on the Eurodam last Autum.
They had a blast!
I would also point out the "mixology" class that is held on several ships. I took part in this with "the kids" and it was fun. We made 4 different cocktails each class (total of 5 classes) and each participant got a 1/2 size glass of each. If you volunteered to mix in front of the class you got the full drink you made in addition to the sampler!
