SO you all are a bunch of turkeys.... glad it is not me. Actually love you all and wish you all were closer. Having a really tough time with our daughter and it looks like Ed and I will be raising our grand for some time. So could use support from my friends. It will all be OK but rough for some time.

Hey Linda...so sorry about your daughter problems...praying for you and Ed, as you raise your Grand...I'm sure your little grandchild will benefit greatly. I will be praying for your daughter as well. Sometimes it just doesn't make sense the choices that our children make, but we have to put our hope in the Lord, who never fails.

Thanks Merry for all the holiday siggies. Did I tell you that Princess has Zumba on the ship? Problem is that it is way too crowded for me...it is so popular now, but I do love it because i love to dance. Have fun with your dinner. This is my year off from the big family crowd here. We will join youngest DD at her house with her inlaws and my sister.

Linda, I'm so sorry you are having problems again with your daughter. I'm sure your GD will be happy with you and Ed and the security and love you will provide. Our job never ends as parents does it. I'm sure your cruise will be a welcome vacation.

Did you read the new Chi O magazine? Our sisters are doing wonderful things. I should get back to going to alum meetings again. Are you involved in any?

Joanne - wishing you a wonderful cruise. You know it takes lots of time to get ready for a cruise and it takes lots of time getting organized when you get back. I know you had fun packing. ;)

I've been busy getting all the pictures organized and will post a link when I am finished with labeling all the pictures. I put them on my shutterfly travel site and that was so much work/time.

Well Girls...I'm already for Thanksgiving...been working in my house for 4 days! I'm ready for company!

Guess who has been knitting too much? Guess who had lots to catch up on their house? ME! Anyways, we are ready and I'm going to have a nice Thanksgiving Week...I think my sister and I will do a little pre-Thanksgiving shopping on Wednesday! We are also going shopping at Midnight on Thanksgiving night! Are any of your Malls or stores opening that early? Isn't that crazy? Guess we'll be out there too! Should be fun!

Hi Gail and Merry,
Thanks for the kind thoughts. It is certainly not what Ed and I had planned but we know it is what God needs us to do.
Gail... funny you should mention Chi O. I found an old Eleusis in my closet. It was an National Convention issue at the GreenBriars. There were some quaint pictures of people from the early 70's including me! It brought back great memories. I occasionally go to alum meetings but there is not an realy active group locally.

I think itís better to view each album by double clicking on the first picture and arrow to the next. I like having control of how fast I view each picture rather than the slide show. I did get most of the pictures titled. Some places I just canít remember. Thereís 468 pictures for 2011. The 2009 cruise is on this site as well.

Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving

My friends,

I am finally back, whew, what a trip. First Disney, then a wonderful cruise, then up to Palm Coast to see a friend and tour this wonderful historical site that they have recently discovered, reveling Old Kings Road, one of the first major roads to hook Florida and the north up. It ran clear up to the Carolina's. More later. Right now I am just jumping into thanksgiving. Yesterday was shopping for the bird and fixings, and this morning will be cooking, cooking and more cooking. We will be celebrating at Sarah's house, just twelve of us, but that is enough.

Linda, I am glad that your son will not be returning to Afghanistan, that is a big relief.

Joanne, have a great trip.

Gail welcome back, I did not return until late Tuesday.

Merry, thanks for all the nice siggies, they are as always, greatly appreciated. I'm glad you have some time off. You are always so busy.

Elisa hope all is well.

Have a wonderful day girls, with lots of love, and chatter and great food.

I'll be back when there is more time.

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!

I know it's been forever (since August) since I've been here, and I've missed all of you. This semester I have around 160 students, about 40 more students than I had during the spring semester. But I still only have six classes, so my classes are all much larger. That has been keeping me busy, but the semester is almost over.

All of you sound as though you have nice Thanksgiving celebrations planned. Since it's just the two of us, we are going to Cracker Barrel for our Thanksgiving dinner. We've been there before on T-day, and it's really good. We did go to visit my parents last weekend; they are doing well.

Merry, I'm still knitting the round blanket I started this summer--haven't had a lot of knitting (or jewelry-making) time this fall. :(

Linda, prayers to you, your daughter, and granddaughter. I know things will work out for you. *HUGS* And Hallelujah that Tim doesn't have to go back to Afghanistan! :)

Rev, have a wonderful time with your family. It sounds as though your cruise/Disney/Palm Coast trip was great.

Joanne, I hope you enjoy(ed?) your cruise.

Gail, your pictures are great! Looks like you had a wonderful time.

I will try to pop in more frequently. And I need to talk to hubby about taking the cruise in 2013--has a particular month been decided on? May is probably the best for us.

*HUGS* and much love to you all.

My oldest daughter had Thanksgiving for her siblings. We got to see three of them on Saturday after my SIL picked us up at the port. We left out of Baltimore, about 1 hour from where they live. Saw all 6 grands which was nice.

We enjoyed our cruise. Ports included Puerto Rico, St Thomas, Samana, and Labadee. Weather was beautiful in the Caribbean but it sure was cold when we left Baltimore. We had rough waters on the sail down to the islands. At times, it was easy to lose your balance.

We did the kayak tour of the bioluminescent bay in Puerto Rico. Had to kayak through a mangrove channel to reach the lagoon. The water sparkled like "Tinker Bell".

Samana is a third world country and very, very poor. People lived in shack-like homes. Some had bathrooms in an outside building but others had outhouses. We learned Samana is the 2nd happiest country in the world. THe average income is $200 but people were always smiling. We stopped at a local school and dropped off school supplies. The children were so happy to see us. THey all gathered on the playground and sang to us. We walked about a mile in to see a natural waterfall and some even swam. It was quite a tricky walk to the waterfall as the path was full of rocks, tree roots, and mud. Many children and some women were there to assist people through the pathway to get a $1.00 tip. At the beginning of our tour, I slipped and hit my back and twisted by ankle when getting off the tour open bus. I have a huge bruise on my back side and my ankle is still swollen. It is truly a small world. The woman I sat next to on the tour was from Utica, NY, 15 miles from my hometown and other members of her party were from Frankfort, less than 6 miles away.

Since we had been to St Thomas on our first cruise with you all, we toured on a sailboat (this was for my husband) to St John. My husband was able to snorkle and was able to get some nice pictures of the multi-colored fish. There was another couple on the tour with us. All in all it was a very relaxing day.

Labadee is the private island of Royal Caribbean. A lot of cruisers did the zip line and roller coaster. We enjoyed the beach. Lot of local shops set up on one side of the island so I was able to pick up some items for the grand kids. It was fun bargaining!

I was not very impressed with the Enchantment of the Seas itself. It did not seem as clean as the other cruise ships we have cruised on. There were about 2200 passengers. Most of the passengers were from Virginia, Maryland, Washington, DC, Pennsylvania and Delaware because of the easy access to the port. I could not believe the rudeness of some passengers. Some parents needed parenting lessons because they had no control over their children who were running up and down the stairs, running into people, etc. On the flip side, I did meet some real nice people.

Anyways, time for me to sign off. Wishing everyone a great week.

My friends,

Joanne, sorry you did not like the Enchantment. I think I look at that ship with rose colored glasses, because of the fond memories I have of it with my beloved John. If you go on the Oasis, you will see a very clean and an extremely exciting and wonderful ship, or the Allure, which ever one we chose for 2013. I hope we are all still planning on going.

I'm in a whirl, unpacking, washing and repacking. Pat and I leave in two days for Disney, then a quick drive to Port Canaveral to catch the Freedom for a seven day cruise starting December 11th.
Thanksgiving was wonderful. I really enjoyed having the day once more with family. Now that I have learned to let go of the part of my family that just could not do the right thing, my health and head are so much better for it. I do not allow news of my daughter to reach me as it is all bad, and I can not go there. I empathize with you completely Linda, it has been a difficult few years, with lots of therapy, but I think I am finally at a point of peace.

Now Pat and I are off again, for another adventure. Tonight we go and celebrate her birthday and then we leave on Thursday. She has a dreaded cold, but I will nurse her through it while we are at Disney, and she will be well for the cruise.

Have a wonderful day.

We had our first snow tonight...the ground is white and beautiful! Had fun driving home in it, from Zumba! Another bit of wonderful news...I have lost 20 lbs. since September 14th...I'm so excited! I have much more to go, but it's encouraging!

Merry - Congratulations on your weight loss. Are you doing Weight Watchers?

Forgot to tell you all. When we came home, we learned there was a wind storm the day before Thanksgiving. Two huge pine trees from the common area fell on our property:eek:. It was a close call but neither tree hit the house. One did hit our brand new deck. Only damage was a cracked post cover. The HOA removed the trees from our property today. We were blessed nothing else happened.

So excited to hear about all of your trips. It makes me more excited for our trip in January. I am also REALLY hoping we can all go in 2013. With Ed retired our times to go are a little more flexible. Like Elisa May is the best month for me ( other than January!) We had a great Thanksgiviing with all four kids home with their significant others and our three grands. Things are still bad with my daughter but we are hanging in there so we can go on our trip. Hope you all are having fun getting ready for the holidays.

I can't take the credit, but I saw it on Pinterest! You dip a plastic spoon in melted chocolate chips...add the marshmallows, a little coconut for the scarf, mini choc. chips for the eyes, butterscotch chip for the hat...put on a plate with waxed paper, set in the frig. to set up...wrap in a plastic bag...add your ribbon...now you have a nice little gift to give for someone's hot chocolate!

Hi Girls!
I just wanted to share a recipe for Hot Chocolate Mix, that you can make to go along with the chocolate spoons, in the previous post!

You can also dip your spoon in chocolate and add crushed up peppermints on top, or peanut butter chips on top, or swirl white chocolate...or you can melt peanut butter chips and dip your spoons in that, and then swirl some chocolate on top...the ideas are endless!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v404/merry384/Snowmen%202009%202010%202011/ng_smLs104_ChristmasCookies_sd-vi.gif
Hot Chocolate Mix
14 qts Carnation Instant Nonfat Dry Milk
2 lbs. Nestle's Quik
1 lb. powdered sugar
8 oz. creamora

Mix it all together. I usually use 4-5 heaping teaspoons per cup! Just add hot milk!

*Would be a nice little gift to put some mix in a bag and then have a couple of those chocolate spoons along with it!

Enjoy!

Hi All,F

Merry you are a busy lady - cookies, singing, crafts, grandkids - but I'm sure you enjoy every minute of it. We get out of school Friday, the 23rd. We have 1/2 day of school. Sure would be nice if we got snow next week so we would have more time off. We return on Jan 2nd.

Going to my church's festival of praise on Friday. All the choirs - children, teen and adult are involved. It's usually standing room only and you have to get there an hour before it starts.

Gail, Linda, Elisa and Rev - are you ready for Christmas?

Fellow cruisers,

Sorry no posts in a while, but we have been sailing on the Freedom and you all know how that goes, you get caught up in the cruise. This one has been a particularly nice one. (Not that every cruise isn't great, but we are traveling with some real nice friends, who are taking up a lot of our time, which we love.)

Had some really nice surprises on this ship. The first was an invitation from Captain Tor for the first formal night. I love eating with the captain or the hotel director on this ship, as they really do present a fine meal, and the company is always wonderful. This year we dinned with some people who we had either dinned with or knew from other cruises.

We had a cabana in Labadee, it was a beautiful day, and we were right over the water, it was wonderful. They no longer have the ribs at barefoot beach, you have to go outside to get them, but the shrimp is out of this world.

It rained in Jamaica, but we went to the Hilton anyway for an all inclusive. It was a half hour drive, the hotel was nice, the Jerk was really good, and the beach was very pretty, but it was too chilly to swim. (We are Floridians!)

Bought some coffee in town, 28 dollars a pound, for Jamaican Blue mountain, and 8 dollars a bag, for my favorite brand, which is what the locals drink.

Grand Cayman weather was sunny and hot, I did not go ashore but stayed and read a really good book.

We have dinned at either Portofino or Chops each night except formal night, and the food has been very good. Pat is fond of the porterhouse, I love the smoked duck and the tuna cappacio, both are out of this world.

The CL has been packed until after six o'clock, and the diamond lounge was moved to one of the big lounges on deck four or five, I don't know which, because I stay in the CL.

Any way we will be going to Cozumel in a few...so it's so long for now.

Have a great day.
Rev

Hi all,
It is the end of the semester and things all get crunched together. I am almost ready for Christmas. I am getting ready for Christmas Eve service and traveling to my brother's house right before the holidays. My BIL was just here for the week helping with my MIL whose health is slowly deteriorating. We are enjoying the rain and no white stuff coming from the sky. Hoping for a green Christmas!! Hope you all are well.

About an hour ago Freedom spotted a little boat of Cuban refuges about three hours off the coast of Cuba. We picked them up, and their boat was set adrift. One was very sea sick, and the others chose to abandon their little boat. Now the coast guards are here picking them up. It looks like there are about 8 of them. I do not know where they will be taken. But they would have never made it to the US. Royal Caribbean saved their lives.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v404/merry384/Rev/penguin3.gif...love hearing about your cruise!

Our choir is singing 2 songs from our Musical this morning and then we are done!

I have lots of baking to do this week...Rick is now on vacation...we are going to try and rest a little too. We have made cookies, english toffee, buckeyes, white chocolate popcorn, caramels, turtles, chocolate covered cashews...I haven't eaten a lot of it...so I am thankful for that!

I have 2 Christmas Zumba parties this week...so excited for that. I missed 3 of my classes last week, because I had so much to do!

My Friends,

Oh, Merry, those penguins are adorable, thank you ever so much.

I love the Holidays. Just put up my second tree in my bedroom. So far I have, a nice living room tree, a small tree in the bedroom. My beautiful snow village, a great live pine tree centerpiece, a wrath, and the front lawn is strewn with angles and one snow man, with lots of lights.

Lovely, lovely lovely. I am in the Christmas spirit. Only problem is I haven't unpacked from my last trip:eek:

Have a wonderful day all.

My one daughter does most of the cookie baking now and I just fill in. I did the easy ones (actually Tom assembled them and I just put them in the oven for about 10 minutes). Have you all made the faux turtles? Mini pretzel - top with Rollo candy - melt in oven and push a half pecan on top and cool. My grandson came over with three friends yesterday - they drive now  - and just hung out.....well, they loved my treats and there's only a few left now.:D

Merry Christmas my friends....just in case i get too busy to get back here.

We have been sooooooo busy...baking and running around...apps....I am pooped...I stayed up till 3 this morning baking cut-outs, because I had such a full day...gonna have to change some things next year!

Got my hair cut today and met my knitting friends at the Yarn Shop, where they surprised me with a nice lunch for my Birthday and lots of yarny gifts...so fun!

My sister Judy and her hubby just got in today...they drove from Florida, went to Amish Country in Ohio, and then back here. She helped me decorate cookies and make buckeyes tonight.

Then, my other sister Jean ran some late night errands...had to find one more thing for Jaden...stop at a couple of groceries too!

I am ready for bed!

Rev...please take pictures of your decorations and your snow village...would love to see them...so glad you are enjoying them!

Gail, Kira and I made the mini pretzels, with a hershey kiss, and an m&m on top...yummy!

I am getting sooooooo excited for Christmas...it happens to me every year....I love the weekend! We are going out to lunch at City BBQ for my Birthday...they have the BEST BBQ Chicken ever! Then back to my house for desserts! Rick is making my Birthday Cake for me, tomorrow...a German Chocolate Cake, from scratch!

I'm going to try my best to have everything done before Noon on Friday, so I can take a much needed break. I have made so many batches of caramels...and given them away!

Rev, Gail, Joanne, Linda, and Elisa...Merry Christmas my sweet Cruisin' Friends...love you all...enjoy your families!

My friends,

Many Happy returns of the day, Merry. My village is up on my pot shelve so I can't fit it all in one picture, but I will try to take some, it might me a while until I get them on line, I wait until I have a lot of pictures on my disk. I'm not too photo savvy when it comes to computers.

Baked some wonderful mushroom puffs yesterday. Today the ham gets dressed and I finish up with most of the appetizers. I was hoping I did not have to go to the store again before Christmas, but I find I have to run out early. So much to do, and so little time.

And I'm leaving in three weeks and a day for twenty days, so I have got to unpack and repack. Meanwhile there are all these great Christmas shows on. I keep my tree lite until after Christmas, all day and night, it's so pretty.

Then the new year, can you all believe it. When I was about ten, I never believed I would live to see the year 2000, now it will soon be 2012. Oh my goodness.

Have a nice Christmas Eve all. I'll be thinking of all of you.

Happy Birthday to Linda (earlier this week) and Merry (today)! I hope that you both had birthday celebrations as special as you are. *HUGS* :D :D

I've been out on break since the 12th and have been enjoying it. Fall semester was busy, but I loved it. We go back for spring semester on January 3.

We're in St. Simons until Christmas Day--we're staying at our usual hotel; will check out tomorrow at noon and then go over to the King & Prince hotel for their Christmas Buffet. Then, we'll go home and open presents. :)

To all of you, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We have had some busy days... driving to Massachusetts to spend time with my brother and family. Then onto to my son and his family last night. This morning we had another celebration with my daughter and our grand Savanna. It was all special.. the other two kids called and that just completed the day for me. I had to give up singing in my church service last night. It was the only way I could see my son Tim and his family. He is getting ready to be deployed to Kuwait and he and my DIL wanted some quiet days with their two kids. I was willing to make the sacrifice since family is so important to me.
And in the meantime we are getting ready to leave on our cruise in a week!!!
Love to all of you.

My friends,

Wow, only three days to go Linda, you must be excited. I have 17 days to wait.

Christmas was lovely and now on to New Years. It's quiet around here on New Years as I am not much for going to parties any more. Too dangerous out on the roads, between liquor, stress and cell phones, it's just not worth it.

I have a family of three staying with me now. Times are so difficult for many and this family lost their home. Well not exactly, it's just that they lived in a condo and 90% of the people moved out or went into foreclosure, so a bad element started moving in, crime started to rise, maintenance payments doubled, and then nothing was cared for, vandals started stealing the copper from the water system, and the water was off more than it was on in the condo, window got broken, they were broken into twice, and all their electrical equipment, jewelry, and things of value were taken. So it was time to leave. The home that they paid 35,000 dollars for 30 years ago, is now worth 6,000 dollars according to the latest tax bill. They don't owe anything on the house, so they just packed up and left! Now here is a woman with four children, two married and two living with her, who is homeless because of the housing crisis. Florida had really been hit by the bad economy. This lady is sixty-four years old, her youngest is twenty and can't get a job, and her daughter has three jobs, all low paying, so she needs all three just to keep her head above water. So I'm helping out until they can find a place to live. Daisy the daughter has over 20 thousand saved (from over the years), which she is not touching, but will put down to buy a home. She is a first time buyer, and there is a program being offered which she is trying to use. So we are all praying.

I know you know people just like this, or have at least heard of them. I feel I am so blessed, so I have reached out a helping hand. I sure hope it will help.

Have a great day all.
Rev

We had a nice day after Christmas celebration. My youngest daughter and son were with us on Christmas day and then the rest came on the 26th. The grands had a wonderful time playing with their cousins.

My oldest daughter is a whirlwind of activity. She made sure all was cleaned up before they left on Wednesday to go home and we left to go to visit Bill's mom in the nursing home. She is much better in the morning. As the day wears on, you can hardly understand her.

We dropped our grandson off in Wendell, NC and drove to the Outer Banks for a much needed change of scenery and relaxation.

Wishing everyone a happy new year.:)

Rev, you are amazing! I'm sure this family is very thankful to have found you!

Joanne...enjoy the rest of your time off...my sister is already thinking about School again!

My Florida sister and her hubby left to go back home this morning. We had a big family" Homemade Noodle" night at my house last night! It was so yummy! Rick and Jean bought me a pasta attachment for my Kitchen Aid Mixer, for my Birthday and it is wonderful...I just love it! We had Homemade Noodles, Mashed Potatoes, Chicken, Salad, Cole Slaw, Fresh Corn, and my homemade applesauce! It was delish! Oh and I made a Homemade Black Raspberry Pie, and a lemon meringue pie!

New Year's Eve will be at my brother Robert's house...always a fun night...we eat and play games...so fun!

I'm having my High School friend over in the morning for breakfast and have our Christmas! Then, I'm off to knitting in the afternoon and my brother's at 6! We probably will only stay until midnight...I can stay up late, but I feel awful the next day...LOL!

Linda is off on her cruise today - Rev has company staying at her house - Merry is recovering from her celebrating - Joanne is enjoying her time off from school - Elisa has been also enjoying time off and back to work this week.

I had another wonderful Christmas and dinner with friends last night at one of their homes. We were home by 12:30 since we started at 6:30 and were so tired by then.

I got a Kindle for Christmas and played with it some, but I am reading a paper book (Killing Lincoln) right now and will finish that before I start one on the Kindle. It has 3G and Wi-Fi and will be nice for our vacations.

Happy New Year Girls!
Gail...you are right...trying to recover from all the parties...LOL! Last night I had a temp of 100! Yikes! Time to take it easy...Christmas decorations are staying up for a while, so I can enjoy looking at them! We had a little snow today...just a dusting over the ground! Our temps have dropped and we have a windchill of 9 degrees...brrrrrrrrrrrr!

We were at my Brother Robert's for New Year's Eve...ate too much...played Bunco...that was fun!

New Years Day, I made Bean Soup, with the Honey Baked Ham Bone, and cornbread....that's when I started to feel yucky. Fever broke last night and I still have a little abdominal pain...just been resting today! I'm still in my jammies!

Rick goes back to work tomorrow...I'm working at Church.

Please pray for my sister Jean...one of her School Moms and Son, a first grader, were tragically killed in a car accident on December 30th....she has called all the parents in the class and has a letter to give out tomorrow, her first day back. She is really upset...they are having an open casket too...so very sad...Mom was 43 and the little boy was 7.

Praying you all have a wonderful New Year! I am going back to Zumba tomorrow...this year I'm going to reach my goal of weight loss and health. Rick and I bought a Vitamix...check them out online...they are used by Master Chefs...it was expensive, but we decided that we wanted to look at it like an investment. We actually got $100 off with a coupon. It is more than a blender...it's an incredible machine. We are making Vegetable/Fruit Smoothies and all kinds of things...a cookbook comes with it, many wonderful recipes, that I'm going to use...you can make your own butter or ketchup, or peanut butter...it is amazing! Check it out! I'm really excited about it, because I don't eat dinner before I go to Zumba, and have been getting home at 8 and eating dinner....so now I can drink a very healthy smoothie!

My wonderful friends,

Merry, here is a great recipe that I made up for a kind of quiche. It is great for diets because it has nothing really fattening in it:

4 eggs, 1/4 c water, 1/2 c. skim milk, 1 t. mustard, salt, pepper and any other spice that you think will go. This is the basic egg mix that you add ingredients to.
stuffings:
1 package Jones All Natural Lite Turkey Links (sausage) and a cup of any left over green veggie, 1 c. grated low fat cheese (any type you want).
or
1 whole cooked chicken breast, 1 c. grated low fat swiss cheese, 1 package chopped frozen spinach that is thawed, nutmeg would be the spice here.

you can also use shrimp with veggies and cheese or ham instead of shrimp, but use a little less ham because of the salt content. You can even use meat loaf and add some chopped tomato and onion, you can see the possiablities

Set oven to 375, put all stuffing ingredience into a pie pan or tin, sprayed with a non-stick coating, place pie pan on a peice of aluminum foil to catch drippage, and pour egg mixture over ingredience. Cook for aprox. 1 hour. Let cool a little before cutting. If you cut into four pieces each piece is about 400 calories, 6 pieces about 325, 8 pieces about 200 calories, and I am figuring on the high side. This is a well balance breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I would use the 1/8 for breakfast along with a low fat yougurt, or a slice of bread, 1/6 for lunch, along with a salad, and 1/4 for dinner with salad and whole wheat toast.

It really is delicious, and when you are on the run it's great to have a slice of quiche ready to go. I pre-cut my pies after I make them and freeze them, so they are ready to heat up any time. It takes away the temptation to eat anything.

Just thought I would add my two cents.

Rev

My friends,

What lovely tags Merry, thanks so much.

I'm busy getting ready for my next three cruises. I leave for the Embassy suites this Saturday morning (you remember that place Gail), and I board the Allure on the 15th, which is Sunday. I will be meeting friends in port, and also on the ship. I have friends who I am traveling with on all three cruises. Now that I sail so much, I am meeting so many wonderful people. It's great. We all love cruising so much, and there are so many stories, and great information to gather from everyone.

Needless to say I can't wait.

We are all well here. Pat loves her home, so tells me that almost every day. The family that is living with me have an offer on a house and it is looking fairly good. But nothing is certain until it happens, especially in the real estate market. Sarah and Bobby (her husband) are thinking about adopting a baby, which is really exciting. Even if they decide not to in the long run, this is very good for them "therapy wise", because it eases the terrible pain of their recent lose. They will also be going to Disney for the week end and staying at the Boardwalk Villas for two days to celebrate Bobby's birthday. So all is well on this home front.

I can not wait to get going, I'll try to drop you guys a note or two while I am away.

Meantime have a great day

We plan to stop at DW on the way down since we're driving and my DD and family will do that too. We all plan to stay at a value resort for the first time to save money. Only staying three nights with two park days - hopper pass and dining plan. We love all things Disney.

Belated Happy New Year to all! We had a quiet celebration--stayed up (barely) to see the ball drop and to drink some champagne.

School started back; I have 5 classes. My students are a bit less rambunctious than the ones last semester. I'm giving my first quiz on Tuesday (we have tomorrow off). Teaching is keeping me busy, but I love it!

Rev, I hope you're having a great time on your cruise. We haven't been on one since 2006. I would really love to go on another one.

Merry, I am sorry to see that you were sick; I hope you are feeling better now. I've been knitting a bit more because I was on break (baby hat, baby sweater).

Gail, have fun with your Kindle! We got Kindle Fires for Christmas and are really enjoying using them. I still love my e-ink Kindle for actual reading, though. The Fire is more for playing games and watching TV/movies.

Joanne, sounds as though you had a great time at Christmas with all of your family.

Linda, I hope you enjoyed your cruise! Are you back teaching yet?

Take care, all! I'll try to pop in more frequently. I'll be traveling for my birthday weekend. :)

Hi All

Can you believe it is the middle of January already!!

Bill and I spent the weekend (3-day for us) in Williamsburg. We went to Jamestown on Saturday (free national parks day admission) and then spent two days in COlonial Williamsburg. We really enjoyed the presentations done by Lafayette, Martha Washington, and George Wyeth, a tour of the Capitol Building (Williamsburg was once the capitol of VA), and some period music concerts. It was a fun weekend but cold.

Hi all,
ELisa I am sorry I missed your birthday.
It has been quite crazy since we returned from our cruise. We enjoyed greatly the trip but were underwhelmed with the ship and Celebrity. So I think we will go back to Princess and RCI.
We will have to cruise with our granddaughter for some time so it will certainly change what ships we choose. Celebrity really isn't a family friendly cruise line.
Hope you all are doing well. I have pictures of our trip posted on Facebook for anyone who wants to see them there.
Missed you all.

My friends,

Well I made it back finally. What a wonderful time I had. I am posting on so many cruises that I am still working on answering posts and e-mails. Any way it's good to be home and signing into our little blog here.

I was just skimming the posts and it just so happens I started my sauce yesterday.

By some inexpensive pork, bone in, beef, bones in and veal bones in.
Put some olive oil in a big, big pot and brown the meet, remove.
Chop up a big onion and saute in olive oil that you cooked meat in.
Chop up about ten cloves of garlic and add to onions after they have sauteed on low for about ten minutes.
Now add the meat. Open four large cans of an Italian brand chopped tomatoes, add and two large cans of Tomato Sauce, an Italian brand is best.
Add some dried basil, and a little salt, simmer on a very low heat, stirring at least every hour.
Let cool and place sauce in refrigerator over night.
Bring out pot of sauce and continue cooking until sauce is the thickness you prefer. If too think, add some water, or if you prefer a little wine.
Now taste, season to your taste, by adding salt, pepper, garlic, and basil. If the sauce is a tiny bit bitter, add some sugar.

Remove all the bones, which will be all that is left. If you wish to add sausage or meat balls do this at the last hour of cooking sauce. Add the meatballs about 1/2 hour before ending the cooking.
Let sauce rest for a bit, maybe an hour, and then reheat just before serving.

My sauce has been cooking since three o'clock yesterday, with an over night rest.

Enjoy Merry and thanks for all the great siggies.

Happy belated birthday Elise, I just can't seem to keep up, can't imagine why.

Joanne, how wonderful a brand new grandson. I am very happy for you.

Linda glad you had a great cruise.

Gail I have not made top level in Royal yet. I will on my April 14th cruise on Serenade this year. I can not wait. Already they are treating me like a celebrity. I get dinner with the captain or Hotel manager every cruise, I get bottles of wine and extra little treats in my room every day. The perks I will get when I reach Pinnacle are the same as if I were traveling in the Royal Suite, only there are a few more little add ons. Four gifts, each cruise that is seven days or more, Some free Internet, some free laundry service, and pressing of clothes on formal night, special tours of different areas of the ship. Special in cabin menus and pillow menu. Reserved seating for shows, and events. Special place reserved at the pool area. Free drinks, water, and appetizers in a special Lounge. Special boarding area, especially on the big ships. I know there is more but that's all I can think of. A special beach at our private island, with a special lunch. When I get to pinnacle I will not be booking suites any more, just a junior suite, which is just fine with me.

OK, that's it for now.

Enjoy the rest of the day, I have got to stir my sauce.

Thanks Joanne. But I actually won't reach Pinnacle until I am in the middle of the first leg of the Serenade. I am so happy about finally reaching that level. One hundred cruises is quite an accomplishment. And that is all on the same cruise line. I guess I am just a cruising fool. I will be with Pat when I get awarded. I believe there is a little ceremony and all. I can't wait.

You know how I love cruising and since John died it seems I do a lot of it. I will slow down soon, because it is really expensive. It sure is nice though. I'm paid up until my October cruise. So I'm doing well with the pay in advance scheme I told you all about a few years back. It makes it less painful. But now it seems I have way too many cruises and it's hard to catch up. I'm thinking of taking a little rest and not doing as many in 2013. But I will be cruising and I hope one of those cruises will be with you guys.

The baby sound "delicious", don't you love their new baby smell. I know that sounds silly, but they always smell so good, and their skin is so beautiful. I love to see new babies.

I hope that everyone else is OK. It is sometime difficult to brake away from the routine, as I am always playing catch up. I know I don't post as often as I should. I really do think of you all often and still fondly remember our time together on the Princess. We really formed a bond, and I hope that never gets broken. A lot of time has passed since then, it's amazing.

Have a wonderful evening all, I'm going to say good night now.

Wow! Look at all of you still here after all these years! My wife and I celebrated our honeymoon on the Caribbean Princes, we actually were married on her May 13! We still remember meeting each of you and remember sharing drinks with you on board days after sailaway! Reverened Smith had a plate full of chocalate dipped strawberrys for all to enjoy! She was wering some type of Disney World T-Shirt. I think I may have had another screen name back then but we were Ken & Carol from South Florida! We actually live rather close to the Reverend! A1A (Ken and Carol), thanks for stopping by! Yes, I remember your getting married on the Princess during our cruise! Yes, it is amazing that we are all still here, chatting almost six years after we cruised together. Some of us have even met again in person since that cruise.

My friends,

Thank you all. I am now officially sixty seven years old. Wow it sure doesn't feel like it. I'm still watching what I eat. Haven't lost much lately, but have not gained anything. I am very careful when I am home.

I am now using turkey meat instead of beef, and I only eat whole grains, no more white stuff. I am also doubling up on good for you veggies, and NEVER anything fried, it's just not worth it. I have been maintaining all through those trips in September, October, November and December, and even the last three, if I gain a pound or two, I take it right off. It's working on those pounds that have been on me for years that is more difficult, but I suspect that this summer I will take a good lot off and maintaining is part of the battle. So I consider that I am doing very well, there is no hurry here. I am doing it for my health and well being, not because I am going to win any bathing suit contests:D

Thank you Ken and Carol for remembering, and have many more happy days of marriage together. It's amazing how the years just roll by.

Well for now ladies, I will wish you well, and a wonderful joyful day

Lots of planning going into our Disney cruise and the time at Disney World. We still don't have the next cruise after that planned. What about our reunion cruise? I do still plan to sail on the new Royal Princess in 2013.

Well girls...we have been trying to plan a vacation and changing our minds on a weekly basis...LOL!

However, we have booked an Alaskan Cruise in May! We are so excited! We are doing a pre-cruise tour of Anchorage and Denali National Park...it's going to be amazing...then we will cruise for one week! We will get to visit a Musk Ox farm, where the fiber qiviut, comes from, which is 8 times warmer than wool, but won't shrink. It is very expensive...I will probably touch, but not buy! There are only 5 Musk Ox farms in the world...2 are in Alaska! We will visit the Husky Homestead, and meet the Iditarod musher! We will get to play with Husky puppies! The best thing of all is that it is also a "Craft Cruise" as in a Knitting Cruise! Am I going to love that or what? Now, before you get the wrong idea, I am not going to be knitting the entire time...they are having 2 guest instructors, which will be offering classes on sea days...I've already decided to not take the classes...but I will meet lots of knitters and we are visiting a ton of yarn shops, in addition to capturing the beauty of Alaska...Rick can't wait! We are really excited...we have wanted to see Alaska for a long time!

I love that time of year in Alaska because all the bears and their cubs are just coming out from their winter sleep. Also are whales are coming back from Hawaii with their babies too. the weather was perfect and we just needed a light jacket if anything. Loved the casual part too - mostly jeans and such. have fun with all the planning.

Congrats on your honor Joanne. It's amazing how fast the years go by with a job you like. I couldn't believe I worked at my school for 17 years and I thought it was only going to be a few years.

We plan on cruising on the new Royal Princess when it first comes to the US in October of 2013 if anyone can do that. If we stick with May of 2013 then maybe we could do the Oasis or Allure. Princess does not do May in the Caribbean. Also flight prices may play a role since they are going up and up. Rev is so lucky to live near a port - that really saves lots of money. We only need 20 more days to make Elite with Princess and I'm trying to stick with them to get to that level.

I also would like a cruise out of NY and really would like to do a Canada/New England cruise. There's so many places I want to visit. I don't mind the Caribbean again if it is the ship I really want to see and not the ports.

There's a cruise I would really love and it is with RCI. I would like to visit Bermuda and Princess only does a short part of one day there and RCI does an overnight there. They only show for 2012 so I don't know dates, etc. for 2013. I also don't know much about their ships. Rev - you will have to help there. Here's the info...

Ship Name: Enchantment Of The Seas
Departure Port: Baltimore, Maryland
Ports of Call: Baltimore, Maryland; Kings Wharf, Bermuda; Boston, Massachusetts; Baltimore, Maryland

Is this a small old ship? Is it any good? I love this itinerary and it sails in May.

I worked at the Wooly Bully last Thursday...went really well! I'm also teaching a Broomstick Lace Scarf class this coming Thursday.

Congrats Joanne on your 20 years of service...what an accomplishment!

Girls...guess we're not gonna have any snow this year...so I'll just have to go to Alaska for my fill...LOL!

Rev, Gail, Joanne, Linda, and Elisa...have a nice weekend!

My friends,

Merry I am so excited for you. It has been a long time since you have cruised, and this cruise you are describing sounds like it is right up your alley. So many things that you love to do. I am so glad that you took the plunge. You will like Holland America. I have cruised with them before several times and they are a nice cruise line. The people are laid back like on Princess, and most are very interested in where they are going, rather than the voyage itself.

As you know I am not a fan of Alaska, but not for any reasons that would make your trip any less exciting. I'm simply not a cold weather, rainy, or rocky terrine type of gal. As I've said before, my idea of camping is a Holiday Inn. I love animals, on TV, and am only found of domesticated ones that live in your home, like cats and dogs. I don't even care that much for horses. But we aren't talking about me are we!

You will love the trip. I don't know if you will be doing any salmon fishing, but John really enjoyed his trip, and we got to keep the salmon afterwards, they smoked it and then sent it to our home. It was so good, we enjoyed it for quite a while afterwards. It was quick frozen and lasted for 10 months, (I kept some for 12) in the freezer, and it was still wonderful when we ate the last piece. We even gave some away as gifts to friends. There was more than enough.

You will have to take a lot of pictures to share with us all your doings. Again I am so happy for you, cruising again at last.

Have a great day all.

Love to all,

Merry, we have sailed with Holland America and it is our favorite line. Don't count on snow in Alaska. We were there over the 4th of July and it was the hottest July on record - upwards of 95 degrees! Did you google "knitting" to find this particular cruise?

I agree. We had a dusting of snow. This week it will be close to 60. Go figure.

No pay raises for teachers in our county again until 2015! No pay raises for last three years either. Many teachers are "working to the rule" starting today (contract hours only). Many will be attending the Board of County Supervisors meeting today to present their case and asking them to raise the tax rate to permit raises for teachers and firemen, policemen, etc.

Hey Girls!
Taught my class last night...went well...something I wonder: How does something seem so easy to you and so hard to others? I guess that's what a teacher is supposed to be able to figure out...everyone learns differently...doesn't mean they are wrong...they just learn a different way...had 2 ladies that I had in another class and they are so needy...took all my time and I felt like I didn't give the same amount to all the others....maybe they need to be in a class by themselves!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v404/merry384/Rev/Spring-Rev.gif...one more tag for you!

I also worked yesterday and we were very busy..I am really enjoying it though!

And....I'm working at the Yarn Shop, Wooly Bully, today...Karen is sick.

So have a GREAT weekend girls! All my friends are so excited about my upcoming trip...and we can hardly wait!

Merry - It looks like you're back to work with all the time at the yarn place. Yes, planning for the cruise is so much of the fun and excitement.

We're booking another transatlantic on the new Royal Princess for its maiden TA voyage to the USA from Europe. It will cruise the summer of 2013 in the Med and sail to FL on 10/9/12. I really didn't think we do this cruise again, but there's some new ports and lots of our cruise friends will be going on this. The rumor is that it will be sold out in the first 24 hours. And that means the price will be too high.

My friends,

Merry, you seem so excited. Are you posting on the site that has your cruise on it. If so it's always fun to do the dancing numbers.

Here they are:

http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j98/RevSmith2/arg-0-50-trans1.gifhttp://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j98/RevSmith2/arg-1-50-trans1.gifhttp://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j98/RevSmith2/arg-2-50-trans1.gifhttp://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j98/RevSmith2/arg-3-50-trans1.gifhttp://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j98/RevSmith2/arg-4-50-trans1.gif

There you go you can also change the numbers by adding letters instead, and then they will become dancing letters. If you look and the [IMG]then it has the site which is always that http with the colon and the two back slashes then i78.photobucket dot com back slash albums another back slash then probably the name you named your album, then another back slash then arg - number-50-trans1.gif ending with the IMG in []. Well where the actual number is in your case it would be 0 through 9, you may place a letter, and the number will change to a letter when you post it. Also if you want to post the number 51, you would post the number five two times, rather than going back and getting the one after you pasted on the five, and simply change the five on the second image to a 1. It sounds a lot more complicated than it is. You can experiment on this site it's fun.

And anyone else who wants to nab these numbers please be my guest.

Love ya

Hi all,
I am embarrased to be so late in posting. I can'[t say that it has not been for lack of interest but just plain insanity.
We have custody of our granddaughter now and it is keeping Ed and I very busy. My son is deployed and scheduled to go back to Afghanistan in May. I can't believe that we have to go through this again. I have been helping my DIL out with her two little ones as much as possible.
Ed just got back from almost two weeks in Guatemala so I have been extra busy with our little one.
I am so glad to see that we are still talking about cruising in 2013. We will have our little one with us but it won't stop us. As soon as our son gets back from his tour we are all going to Disney. I have promised the grands to take them and we have been talking about it for awhile. It keeps us positively focused and gives us something to be excited about.
Merry.... we loved Alaska and would go back again. We went on RCI with 10 of us. It was an incredible trip but we couldn't do the land part since we had all 4 kids with us. Everybody had to get back home to go back to work.
Gail I sent you a friend request. Hopefully you will enjoy looking at the cruise pictures. We so enjoyed the cruise and time away. We will have to cruise with Savanna for some time into the future.
We are taking our granddaughter to Universal Studios in early May just to get away. It has been a tough road with our daughter. I get flashbacks to Rev's granddaughter and her stories. Not a fun period to be living through but I am glad I am here to be able to do so.
Sending you all lots of love.
FYI Elisa.... my birthday is December 22 two days before Merry. And Happy Belated Birthday to Rev.

Hi Girls...sure has been a busy weekend for me! LOL!

I took lunch on Friday to my sister's office staff at School...homemade chicken noodle soup ( used my pasta maker again), homemade yeast rolls, homemade applesauce, and a homemade black raspberry pie...they loved it and raved about it...was fun to do...they are invaluable to her and she wanted to do something really special! It was a lot of work, but I really appreciate their loyalty to her and support...it's a tough job!

We are getting excited about our trip!

Rev...thanks for the dancing numbers...they are cute!

Linda, I 'm sorry to hear about your son having to go back to Afghanistan...will certainly be praying for him. Sounds like you have a full plate with your little granddaughter, but thankfully she is in good hands.

We had very dangerous tornadoes in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana yesterday...thankfully they were not near us...but I'm sure you saw the devastation on the news.

What is happening to this site, it seems to be winding down a little, I hope not, as I really enjoy talking to you all. I am on the Allure right now, this is Saturday, so it is the last day of this cruise. We disembark tomorrow. Then four days home and I'm off for 10 days, one at the Embassy Suite, and then nine wonderful days at sea on the Navigator of the Seas.

Well have a fantastic day all.

Well girls.....I've had a tough last couple of weeks. My sister had emergency surgery for a huge tumor on her ovary - the size of two large grapefruits together. They got everything out and a complete hysterectomy and there was NO cancer. Of course our big worry was malignancy. She was in the hospital five days and now back home and off work for 6 weeks - so I'm spending time with her. She's doing great now!

It's cold today, but sunny like spring.

Merry - my sister is recovering very well. She still get tired, but is healing just fine. I'm sure she'll be glad to get back to work since she's bored at home. Doc wants her off work for six weeks.

I'm waiting today to see if I got a cabin on the new Royal Princess for the maiden transatlantic 10/9/2013. Bookings open today and it is expected to sell out for that cruise in one day. Hope my TA can get us on it.

I only have 20 more days on Princess to make Elite and I'd like to do it before that cruise. I have a few ideas for cruises, but will have to figure the costs involved. So....if we're going to do a reunion cruise, I would like it to be on a Princess ship. Any thoughts?

Gail, I'm up for a reunion, what ever everyone else wants.
right now I'm at the ES in Everglades waiting to board a nine day cruise tomorrow. This will be my 100th cruise on Royal Caribbean. So I will be Pinnacle, their highest tier on this cruise. Sweet! Therefore I will no longer be pursuing a level, because I will have reached the highest level there is on the Royal Line. So Princess is fine with me. I am booked solid until February of 2013, it's amazing. One day I will calm down, but not quite yet.

Gail, I am glad to hear your sister is doing well. I hate all that worry, it is so difficult, and I hate it when people I care about are worried. It's so difficult, this life, some times. I had a little set back. Had to have a tooth removed that was really infected, so the dentist gave me some Amoxicillin, no problem, taken it before.
BIG problem, I had a serious reaction, my body has decided that it will now be allergic to penicillin. Right now, after the extraction, and the reaction, I am covered from head to toe with blisters, first they felt like my body was so stretched that every move was painful, and now, everything is shrinking again, and blisters are all over. Really attractive! But you know what, at this point in my life, I know this too shall pass, and I'm going on a cruise, so who really cares. I just have to remember never to take penicillin again. Oh, the trials we all go through. Heaven is going to be so much better.

Well I had better get to bed, it's getting late.

Have a great night and pleasant dreams girls.

Hi Girls!
Just read this on Facebook, from Gail.

More sad news. I know how you must miss your sister Judy and Julia the worry you must be in for your sister. My thoughts are with you both. I received a call from the nursing home at 2 AM that my dear uncle died. He had a full life and was lucky to live to 95. He had no children and I was his POA and the one who took care of things for him. I was with him yesterday and did not expect this to happen so fast. I had planned to see him today and he wanted me to bring him a beer. He was the last of the "old" people in our families - now Tom and I are the oldest. Many things to take care of now and don't know how much I'll get back this week.

(((Gail))), I am praying for you and your family...hope it was ok with you to post the above...love you!

My goodness what a week and I am not caught up with sleep yet. the funeral yesterday was very special and small. I know my uncle would have been pleased. Boy, when they played taps and folded the flag and gave it to me their were tears in our eyes. That's hard to listen to without crying. Thank you for all the kinds words. Of course I still have lots to do with paper work and clearing out his place.

Love you all....

Hi all,
It is so cold here after the teasing spring weather. I am still enjoying that it is not snowing.
Merry.... I am so excited for you and your trip. Hope you and RIck enjoy every minute. I am ready to cruise in a minute!!
We are taking Savanna to Orlando for three nights. Ed is taking me to Universal to experience the new Harry Potter exhibit. He is trying to make up for the 9 days he was in Guatemala and I was home by myself with a 3yo!!
We are also taking our three grands to an indoor water park in a few weeks. We are trying to do specail things with Tim;s kids since they are struggling with him being gone. We are bringing our DIL as well since we love her as much as the grands. SHe is an amazing and strong woman to deal with his deployments. He picked a good one and I know he appreciates all she does for their family. So please keep Tim in your prayers so that he comes home soon safe and healthy. Happy Easter to all if I don't make it back on before then.

My Friends,

First may I take this opportunity to wish everyone a very Happy Easter weekend. We are traveling right now.

Pat and I are here in PR. A beautiful day so far. Good Friday, and this little Island almost shuts down. Tonight we are going to try to go to Marmalade's, which is an excellent restaurant in Old San Juan, if it's open.

Just had a great breakfast, (free or as some would say, included in the price of the room) down stairs at the Embassy Suites. Since it is Easter weekend, this place is crowded with Children (my very favorite). Little hands touching everything, so the plan thus far is to get to the food early before the little cherubs open their little eyes.

I am so excited about going on the Serenade and all the great islands that we are going to visit. Fantastic. But I must say our trip down here was a nightmare. I hate, hate, hate flying. I am not a seasoned flier and therefore, have no idea what I am doing. We were dropped off by the limo at Miami International at nine o'clock in the morning on Thursday. No curb check in, so all eight bags had to be pushed by Pat and I into the terminal and up to the check in counter. I felt like I was at camp. The bags kept going all over the place, it was quite an ordeal. Then we had no idea what to do when we got on line. I finally located an agent and told her I was so lost, she helped me check in, I thought I had done that when I printed my boarding pass on Wednesday...but Nooooooo, you have to re-check in and tell them how many bags you have, and YOU do it on a computer. There are no signs to tell you this, so if I hadn't asked I would not have known. Finally up to the place you weigh your luggage. Being in first class all our bags were free. Nothing was over 50 pounds, and we had a weight limit of 70 pounds a bag.

As we left that area, we now had to find our gate. I went for a wheel chair, because at this point I was in a great deal of pain. But everything came on me so suddenly, and I didn't have a chance to stop. It was like the great cattle drive. We got to rest at the wheel chair "wait". Pat took this opportunity to go outside and smoke, a habit I am praying that she stops one day.

Finally the wheel chair arrived. And I swear this guy took us all the way to Georgia for our exciting check in. This is where they do everything but strip search you. The big question is why??? I have yet to figure that out. My only answer is to give us the IMPRESSION that we are safe! Honestly, the "bad people", have already figured out another way, but that's a different subject altogether. The poor wheel chair pusher opened my carry on and spilled the contents all over the floor. He apologized as he picked it all up and then we proceeded through the scanner etc. We regrouped on the other side. Then on to the elevator to the gate.

We had breakfast at a Fridays right next to our gate, and then went over to the waiting area. After a half hour wait we boarded the plan. Thus far I saw nothing "First class" about this trip.
to be continued as this is way too long and it will erase if I don't watch out.

...When we boarded the first sign of first class appeared, two seats on each side of the aisle and plenty of leg room. We sat down and prepared for departure. After everyone boarded we taxied around the runway and took off at a reasonable time. Once airbound the steward came around with mixed nuts and a beverage offer. About 30 minutes later, lunch was served. We both opted for the hot turkey sandwich. Well I have to tell you, I have honestly never tasted anything equal to this meal, except maybe some of the lunch served at the school cafeterias when I was teaching. Later the steward told us that they have never experienced picking up a tray where the sandwich was consumed. Not a gourmet meal, or really a meal as far as I am concerned.
They had a tiny little screen that came down and showed TV shows from NBC, but we didn't have head sets and the announcement said they were available for 50 dollars, and then we got to keep them forever. Well that was NOT a bargain for me, so I did not even ask. Later we discovered that the ear phones were free in First class, but somehow where not on our seats as they usually were! Another lesson learned.

We landed on time at 2:05PM departed the plane, we were the last ones off, because I can not stand that crazy rush to get to no where and stand and wait for your luggage. By the time we arrived by wheel chair at the baggage carousal all our luggage was coming up and we just grabbed it off and were on our way.

Cab ride to the hotel was quick and NOT expensive. $11.00 plus a dollar a bag.

When we got to the hotel there were NO lines, just a whole bunch of people. No order, just chaos! Finally after a thirty minute wait we checked in. But no room was ready, it was now 3:00PM. We went and sat down, our first lesson in San Juan, everything is S L O W!
and LATE, so go early and get it done. A good lesson.

Our room was great, no problems. We went down to happy hour, it was filled with children, so I had a ginger ale and pop corn, Pat had a diet coke and we departed.

I did not have dinner tonight because today was exhausting.

That's it so far.
have a wonderful holiday and enjoy your families they are so precious.
Rev

Wow, I didn't realize until I logged on that I haven't posted in almost 2 months. Time is just flying by!

Happy Easter, everyone! Charles and I don't have family around here, so it was quiet for us. Went to church--we had our service outside in the little park that's next to our church and it was so pretty and special. Beautiful day. The choir sang, which was nice (no solos, though). Then, when we came home, we had ham, popovers, and salad for our Easter dinner. We'll be having leftovers for a while, but that's okay because it was very good ham. :)

Gail, I'm sorry to hear about your uncle. *HUGS* I hope that you and your family are doing okay.

Rev, I hope you're enjoying your cruise. Sorry that your flight was not the best, but I am sure you'll be relaxing on the ship. :)

Merry, you seem to be busy as usual! Congratulations on your weight loss; I'm sure you are happy. Enjoy your belated Easter celebration with your grandkids.

Joanne, I'm sure your little grandson is adorable. How nice that you were able to spend time with him. We only have a few weeks left of our semester--it has flown by!

Linda, prayers to your son and his family. I hope that he stays safe and is able to come home soon. Enjoy your trip to Universal. When are you going?

Take care, everyone, and I'll try to post more often. *HUGS* to all of you.

Well, brunch with my family was wonderful - weather perfect. I hid 60 eggs in the yard before they came over and all six grands (even the 16 and 14 yr olds) went searching. Once they found 10 eggs they were done so all could be even. I also had money in them and all were found but one. I'm sure I'll find it when gardening some day.

Merry, we had the usual brunch fare - egg and ham casserole with the corn flakes on top, several lbs of bacon, sausage casserole, fresh fruit and dip, hash brown casserole, scrambled eggs, assorted donuts, Panera bagels, juices and coffee.

Congrats on your exercise and weight loss - you never rest do you.

Oh my goodness, what fun we have been having. This cruise is so port intensive. I need a vacation from my vacation. I must tell you about Dominica, what a beautiful island. The port town itself is very crowded and very busy and there are not a lot of shops for those of you who love to shop, shop, shop. We negotiated for a cab, 80 dollars for three hours for the two of us. We went high up into the mountians, into the rain forrest. This island is filled with rain forests and although it is quite hot in the port town it is so nice and cool up in the rain forest. It is just comfortable to drive. The flowers are incrediable, and the views are spectacular. We went to this little place where Pat got out and ventured down a mountain path to a beautiful pool, that many tourists were swimming in. The views and the flowers were beyond believe, she took a lot a pictures and showed me, so it was like being there for me. Unfortunately these are things I can no longer do. We left there and continued on our journey heading back into town after stopping along the way to take many, many shots of rainbows, birds, and the lush landscapes. We were so impressed that we asked the driver for three extra hours which he was happy to do. We went to the other side of the mountain up to these beautiful waterfalls and hot baths, it was amazing. Then we stopped at this Inn that was right on the edge of a mountain.

The Inn was made of stone, and it had a lovely outdoor covered restaurant. It was so beautiful there, every where you looked there were the most fantastic views. We took the taxi driver to lunch and had the most delious lunch. Pat had the flying fish and I had the chicken salad, both plates had plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables which were grown locally. We finished off with some lovely ice cream and some of the best local coffee I have had in years. After lunch we ventured down the mountain and back to the ship, we were totally exhausted. Pat had enough energy to go out and get some of that local coffee so we could enjoy it when we got home.
What a wonderful, wonderful day.
Take care all.

Hi all,
Happy Belated Easter to all of you. We were in Massachusetts with my brother and his family for 4 days last week. It was relaxing and fun. We went to the flagship store of Yankee Candles ( my favorite) The only problem with traveling is catching up when we get back.
Next weekend we are taking all three grands to an indoor water park. It will be a good diversion for my son's kids and his wife. I would give them the world to make their life a little easier.
Then we are going back to my brother's house the following weekend, Ed is going to help him build a chicken coop. My SIL is into chickens. They have 5 full grown ones and just got 6 chicks. Then we go to Orlando the first week of May with Savanna. So we will be busy and for some reason they still expect me to go to work!!
Joanne... congrats on your 20 year pin. It is quite an accomplishment. I am finishing my 24th year at the college. It is the third place I have taught but certainly the longest. I hope for 4 more years and then retirement. I am not quite ready but think I will be at the time I have planned.
Soooooo are we really going to do something about a reunion trip/cruise?? If we can't all commit to a cruise could we consider along weekend for all of us girls??? I would love to see you all and want to make it happen somehow.
I will be in Colorado ( Breckenridege) this summer to present at a conference. I have a friend in Estes Park so am hoping to see her when I am there.
Love and peace to all of you,
Linda

Hi all,
Just back from a weekend at an indoor water park. We took all three grands with mu DIL. My son ( dad to two of my grands) is deployed so we were trying to give them a weekend diversion. It was great fun. We didn't leave the hotel and water park all weekend. We had a blast, spent lots of time in the water and just hung out. We are tired but feeling quite satisfied. Hope all is well with all of you.

Dear Friends,

My cruise is over for now, and another is about to begin. I am going totally out of my mind at this point.

I must confess, the reason I am cruising as much as I am is because I no longer like living in my own home. As a matter of fact I can't stand it. Let me start from the beginning.

Almost a year ago, you may all recall, I invited my friend, and the lady who took care of John when he was so sick, into my home. She had moved from her place, because it was so bad, crime-wise and everything. She owned this home and it went from being worth about 100 thousand dollars to being worth about 15 thousand (if that), in a matter of a few years. It was a condo in not such a nice neighborhood. Well when the housing crisis took effect many of the other owners, just stopped paying the bank, and lived in their condos until they were foreclosed on or simply could not stand it there any more. They did not pay the condo fees, or anything, and the neighborhood went from bad to worse. So my friend moved in with her grand daughter. Well that didn't work out, because the girl started abusing her. (sounds like a soap opera, doesn't it). I over heard her talking on the phone with her grand daughter, she was crying and I could hear the GD screaming right through the phone. I grabbed the phone and told her, that she had no right speaking to her Grand Mother that way and hung the phone up. I told my friend she could live with me until her daughter found a home that they could both live in. Her daughter was living with her dad at the time, looking for a place to buy on a government, first time buyer's program.
Well soon after my friend moved in her daughter (who is very nice moved in), and all was well, until November. That is when her son moved in. They both came to me and were in tears, the son had no where to go, and he needed a chance, life had been so mean to him and on and on. I thought OK, lets give him a chance and it's been hell ever since.
The boy/man is twenty three years old. He eats, sleeps, talks on the phone, watches TV and plays on the computer. He makes excuses for himself, and he has been doing this since he came here.
I wanted to help him at first, and I went and bought him a whole bunch of clothes so that he would look nice when he went to look for a job. They told me he was looking, in the beginning, but I don't think he looked very hard, because he still doesn't have a job. Now he is not skilled, and has never worked, he didn't even finish school, so he is just bumming around now. I watched him gain almost forty pounds, and since he hasn't stepped on a scale in over two months, he probably weights forty pounds more by now. He eats constantly, and all the things he eats are the wrong things. His mother is an in abler she goes and buys him all the wrong foods, chips, fried food, candy, cheese, sausage, etc. She sneaks the snacks into the room in bags and she thinks I don't see this.
The boy has out grown all the clothes that I bought for him, but she says he is on a diet and will loose the weight. I do not see any diet happening.
This child doesn't even clean up after himself, he leaves his plate on the table and his mother picks it up and cleans it for him. She does his wash, and pays for his cigarettes, (yes, he smokes). His poor mother only makes about a thousand dollars a month and she is totally supporting him.
It's really even worse than it sounds.
Last month I told them they had to move out by June 15th. He said, oh no, it's my birthday, you can't make me move out on my birthday. If you do I will go out and run naked in the streets. I told him that he may as well undress now and start running, because that is the last day they can stay in my house.

When I told my friend about this date, she was very gracious, and thanked me for all I had done for her family, it was only the boy who made a big deal about it. Then her daughter came to me about a week ago. She managed to purchase a home in February, but so far the government has not repaired it to the point where they can move in. The pipes may be broken, the windows have not been replaced, and none of the toilets work, plus there is a lot of mold in the house. I told her I was sorry, but that was my dead line and there were no extensions. She was sad but understood.

I did not want to part with this family on a sour note, but it has become so difficult for me lately. I can't watch the boy abuse his mother like he does, and I can't watch the mother spoil him like she does. It breaks my heart. So I am living day to day, trying to coupe with this situation until it is over. I keep hoping, maybe they will move out before the dead line, but they don't. And it is so heard.

They said they were buying their own food, but I see things disappearing all the time, it has gotten to the point where I am hiding everything I buy and then sometimes I forget where I hid something. I even have to hid the laundry detergent and the bleach. I have to take the phones into my bedroom at night, because the boy goes outside between the houses at night and talks to his friends until five in the morning. He uses such foal language, that my dear neighbor who I have loved for years, has started to complain, because her and her daughter have been woken in the middle of the night by his rantings and ravings.

As I said it is shear hell, and I am counting the days until they leave. Fortunately I only have to be home for twenty two more days, so it's not a month and a half for me, or I would go mad.

OK, I've gotten all this off my chest. It's a world I have created, I have no one to blame but myself, and I am getting out of it, but in the mean time, I am suffering a lot. Maybe it is true what they say, no good deed goes unpunished.

Have a great day, I know I won't.
Rev

Rev - sounds like you're running a homeless shelter in your beautiful house. I do understand how you want to help people, but I don't understand why you let them all move in. We are so different because I would never let strangers live in my house while I am not there. It doesn't seem fair to your neighbors either. I would get them out ASAP even if it involved getting the police to help you get them out. I think you are being taken advantage of my dear. You have a good heart and this often happens to people like you. It happened to my sister since she is like this too and she lost lots of money and had property destroyed among other things. Please stay strong and get them ALL out.

Hugs, Gail

Linda - I've been enjoying all your pictures on facebook. You sure have been busy doing grandparent activities. Enjoy that time while you have them close (and living with you is close);) And I'm sure your DIL enjoys the time you spend with them as well.

Funny story...our 16 yr old grandson stopped by the other night. We're watching TV and Dean calls and asks if he can come over to do homework (they live about 4 minutes away)....and would I make him a smoothie. So I made my delicious smoothie (strawberries and blueberries) for Dean and Tom and Dean did homework while we watched TV. Love these times.

Merry - you are looking super with your weight loss. What does the VitaMix mixer do that other mixers like the Magic Bullet can't do? Enjoy your cruise.

Linda - thank you too for posting on the photographer's web page. When is your son due to come home?

Elisa - are you still making jewelry?

Thank you, thank you all for your support. They are in fact on their way out. And they are now being a lot more pleasant, because they know I mean business. The have been working over at their new home, the water is now on, they have had a contractor come over and help them and they are well on their way. It is a lot easier here, because we now UNDERSTAND each other. It was so difficult when I wrote, be now that they have had time to think about the dead line, and know it is a real one, they have adjusted and it will be OK, I am sure. The little time that I will be at home, I think it is down to ten or eleven days now, is nothing. I can make it. I see the light at the end of the tunnel. It has been a trail, but I can see it coming to an end. Thank you again for all your help, I always appreciate your advice.
Sometimes you can't see the forest for the trees, but now I see a clearing. Thank God. It is almost over.

Hi all,
It is always so good to come on and find notes from you.
Rev..... I send love and hugs your way. You are just too kind and I am sorry that you have had to deal with people who don't appreciate your generosity.
Merry..... Yahoo you are Alaska bound. It will be a once in a lifetime trip full of great memories for you and Rick.
Gail... I love every grandparent moment I get even when I am so tired. Our little Savanna who lives with us just has to say "I love you Aummie" and my exhaustion fades away.
Joanne.... almost the end of another year. I finish classes on Friday and then onto finals and graduation. It seems to go so fast. I just got an I Phone a month ago and love it. I just started texting which my kids insisted that I do.
Elise... you must be winding down as well. Are you teaching this summer?
My son left for Afghanistan today. He texted me at 4:30 am to thank me for caring for his family and let me know he loves me. It has been a tough day but it is now one day sooner to get him home safe.
Our trip to Florida was really short.. three days to Universal Studios compounded by Ed getting the stomach flu while we were there. So Savanna and I left him at the hotel and went to the park. Not exactly what we had planned. And then we came home to find our dehumidifier had blown a circuit.. the same circuit as the freezer. So we lost the entire freezer of food. Oh well!! It is all good!!

to all of you. :)

Our semester wound up last week with graduation a week ago Thursday. The chorus sang at graduation and the whole ceremony went very well.

I'm teaching two classes this summer; I have almost all of the rest of May off.

Rev, I hope that you got those people out of your house. I'd be afraid of them hurting you (especially the son [grandson?]) or doing something to your house when you're not there. I agree with Merry and Gail--it might be wise to involve the police so they leave your house.

Merry, sounds as though you're keeping busy with your knitting and working in the yarn store, and your exercising. And don't you have a cruise coming up? I knitted some dishcloths for a friend, and a hand towel to give to my mom for Mother's Day. I'm also working on a couple of blankets for baby gifts.

Linda, I'm glad you are enjoying being a grandma. (-: I'm sorry Ed got sick while you were on vacation, though.

Joanne, school is almost over for the year for you, isn't it? I hope you have a good summer.

Gail, I think it's so cute that your grandson (even though he's 16) wanted to come over and do his homework at your house. He wanted some grandparent time. :)

I'll try to stop by more often. *HUGS* to all of you.

We're all packed and ready to walk out the door...YIPPEE!

What a day this has been! Worked at Church...got everything done there!

Last minute hair appointment for cut and highlights...had to cancel last week, because I was so sick....my stylist moved 2 appointments today, so that she could do me....wasn't that sweet? And I feel so much better, now that my hair looks nice...aren't we funny girls?

I can't think of a thing I have forgotten...went over my list...and checked it twice!

Haven't flown in a while...will feel better once we get through security!

Thanks girls for all the well wishes...I am feeling so much better...still dealing with a cough, but it's getting better too!

Don't know if I will post on here while we're gone, but I'll have lots to tell, when I get back!

Only 2 more weeks of school left. Yipee!

My friend's son who was in an accident 5 weeks ago passed away. He was 38. He was hit by a car. The driver did not see him as her son was dressed in dark clothing. No charges against the driver. Mike was in rehab and making great progress and then a blood clot happened. Been busy organizing food from her friends at school.

Have a wonderful week.:D

Lots going on here in the last couple of weeks. My good friend died on May 22 and the wake and funeral was this week. We have been friends over 40 years and they have cruised with us several times. She has had cancer 4 times in the last 20 years and has helped so many who struggle with this disease - she was an inspiration to all of us. The Chicago Tribune wrote an amazing 1/2 page article about her this past week. Also at the mass the priest read a two page letter to all of us that she wrote before she passed away - I don't know how she did it. If anyone wants to read it and the article I will send the link via email since I don't want to post it here.

Hi Girls!
Got home at around 1:00 this morning...pretty tired today!

Had a GREAT time in Alaska...very expensive trip...LOL! Our weather was pretty good...had lots of drizzle with temps in the 40's...we were hoping for a little more sunshine!

Really enjoyed the Muskox Farm in Palmer...met some really nice knitters....had lots of fun with them!

Denali - did not get to see Mt. McKinley...too cloudy...saw a mother grizzly and her cubs...very far from the bus...saw them on the video up close...I didn't realize that you could only ride a bus into Denali...no cars unless you have a special permit, like a photographer. A moose did cross the road in front of us...that was neat...most of the animals were far away!

The Cruise was nice....food was ok...one thing that we were disappointed about...no Alaskan King Crab Legs on the menu....thought for sure we would have our fill! Noticed in every restaurant at each port, that they were about $45! Yikes!

On Saturday, while cruising thru the Inside Passage, the ship listed....we went way over....I was in an elevator at the time and when the doors opened...me and this other lady went flying out to the elevators across from us...kinda scary! The Captain claims that they hit a current, but noone believed him, because the Cruise Ship that was following us, did not lean over like we did! The pool emptied out and ran in the dining room...a little girl that was in the hot tub, floated right out of it! One of the bars on the 8th floor, lost 7 wine bottles!

We did an incredible excursion at Juneau, our favorite port! We took a floatplane up to Tuka Lodge...flew over 5 glaciers....landed at the lodge for a delicious salmon dinner, grilled over a wood fire...the best food of our whole trip! Took a neat hike and saw a beautiful waterfall. As we ate our salmon, looking out of the picture window, the Tuka Glacier was our view...breathtaking! As we were eating, Rick said, "There's a bear!"...right out there eating some oil from the salmon...they actually let us go outside and take pictures...he was about 20 feet from us!

We really liked the dessert buffet too...it was amazing!

Girls, I ate way too much...by the end of the cruise, I was tired of eating...LOL! Gotta get back on the right track!

Got to shop in lots of yarn shops and had fun buying some too!

Loved the train ride to Denali...eating on the train...reminded me of the movies...LOL!

Joanne...so sorry to hear that about your friend's son...will be praying for the family.

Gail...I'm so sorry about your dear friend...glad she made such a difference in the world...and glad you have such fond memories...praying for her family too!

Rev, I don't know how you cruise so much...you must really LOVE it!

Linda and Elisa...hope you're having a nice summer...almost summer!

Gotta scoot and fix dinner! What's that? LOL!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v404/merry384/Gail/gail_PotOfPansies_sd.gif...can't seem to get caught up on my rest....I was not feeling the greatest, when we left on our trip...and the weather up there was not conducive to the fact that I was coughing and blowing my nose....LOL!

I feel much better now, but I don't know if the time difference has messed me up or I'm just worn out!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v404/merry384/Joanne/joanne_PotOfPansies_sd.gif...how many more days with the kids? My sister is done with kids and is already going to workshops...she gets the whole month of July off!

Hi all,
It has been a busy two weeks for us. Ed had a heart attack two weeks ago quite unexpected. He is doing Ok but life has been a bit scattered since then. I had to have some scar revision surgery Tuesday and was in the hospital overnight. We are all recovering well but will have to take it easy for a bit of a time. No traveling for awhile.
Gail.... wish we could hook up with you on one of your trips. We are planning a big Disney trip as soon as our son gets back from Afghanistan. We are taking all three grands and their parents for a week. I would love to read the write up of your friend. I am so sorry to hear about your loss.
Merry... loved looking at all of your pictures in Alaska. We found the excursions there to be the most expensive of any of our trips.
Still hoping we can do a cruise together at some point. Stay well!

Good Morning Girls ~ Well, I came back from my fun couple days in the city and I've been since ever since with a cold or sinus infection. I don't get these often - but I'm coughing and and can't breath. We stayed at the Palmer House and loved it - just a few blocks to the theater and right next to the restaurant where we had dinner. Our first day started at 8 AM and took the train to Chicago. Checked our bags and took a car to the most wonderful food tour that lasted about four hours. We walked thru neighborhoods of the Gold Coast, Old Town and Lincoln Park and tasted food at 7 different places. Our guide gave us histor of each area and the things we were tasting. Reminded me of being on an excursion on a cruise. I would do this again since there's many different tours. Obviously lots of walking. We were the only locals in our group of 11 - 2 from UK, 2 from Canada and 2 from Asia.

My dear sweet friends.... it is so comforting to read your posts.
We had a scary overnight Monday. Ed was readmitted to the hospital with a fast heart rate. They could not find anything heart related to it and he passed his stress test. So he is back home and starting cardiac rehab today.
I am recuperating as well since I had surgery last Tuesday for a GI bloackage. They removed some scar tissue and other than being sore I am just tired from all of this. I send my love to you all.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v404/merry384/Joanne/joanne_Ls114Happy4th_sd.gif...enjoy your last day with the kids!

Melissa, from Craft Cruises really planned everything out and we didn't have to think about a thing, which was nice! We took a trip to Palmer, Alaska, to a Muskox Farm, where they comb the Quiviut, from the muskox....and spin it into very expensive yarn...the ladies I was with were buying it like it was candy...to the tune of $155-$200 a skein! I did not buy any of the quiviut! We stopped at Touch of Alaska, which was a yarn shop and gift shop...the lady there had a huge Salmon Bake for us....all homemade foods....delicious!

The next day we went to the Husky Homestead....loved it....learned a lot about the Iditarod...as soon as we got off the bus, they handed us a husky puppy...they were adorable!

The next day we took the bus tour to Denali National Park...saw moose, grizzly bears, dall sheep, caribou, and elk...that's one big park!

In between the above two tours, I think we must have gone to 3 other yarn shops...it was such a blast! Rick was so sweet to endure that part for me...we were always surrounded by GORGEOUS scenery...so he made use of the time, by taking over 800 photos!

Before we boarded the ship in Seward, we stopped at yet another yarn shop...and then off to the ship we went...the Ship was much smaller than the Caribbean Princess....a little easier to get familiar with our surroundings!

At each port we stopped at, there were yarn shops...and tons of excursions....we chose to only do one excursion at Juneau...that was the float plane over 5 glaciers to Taku Lodge...unbelievable scenery...incredible...would do it again!

It was kinda neat, since we were with Craft Cruises, to really get to know one another...having knitting in common, made it very easy to feel comfortable as a group. There were other husbands there as well...one of the husbands, was an avid knitter. 2 other husbands learned how to knit, while on the trip...3 did not want to knit...LOL!

We had a GREAT time...just wish it had been a little more sunnier and that I had felt better on the first half of the trip...we made due and didn't let anything stand in the way of having a great time!

Celebrating Jaden's Birthday tomorrow night!

My friends,

I will go back and catch up soon, so I know what is happening with you guys. I have been away a long time.

Well I am home now, and not cruising until September. It is really nice to be home. Since I arrived home a lot has happened. The best thing is that the family that was living with me has now left. What a relief that is, it's so nice to have my home back.
Pat went to the throat doctor and had a nodule over her voice box. It was quite large, so Friday she had surgery to remove it. The doctor said it did not look like cancer, but that she must give up smoking. So far she has not had a cigarette, I am praying that this is the end of her smoking.
I have started re-owning my space. All the food that they had is gone, I now have space in my refrigerator, I can get my pantry back in order, because I couldn't find anything when I was home. I had to keep all my food in different places and hid some of the things or they were gone. Of course I could not hid the things that had to be refrigerated, so I was always replacing those things. Also I am discovering that a lot of things are broken, so they have to be replaced. I used to address these things, but no one seemed to know how things got broken, or who ate anything that belonged to me. It was really strange, and I am glad it is over. Big sigh of relief.

Well enough of my life. Time to settle down and relax and smell the roses.

Happy father's day to all the father's. And to all, have a great day. It's great to be home.

Hi all,
I just saw on Facebook that Elisa just took her GREs. How exciting... I remember when I took mine, my youngest son was only 3 months old.
Ed and I are both still recovering and getting a little better each day.
We are hoping to be able to cruise with Savanna. I don't think we will be doing Celebrity since there are so few kids on the ships we have been on. I think we will probably try Royal Caribbean again.
RIght now we are planning our trip to Disney which will occur when our son gets back from Afghanistan. We are hoping to be down there in January. Hope you all are staying cool in this heat.

My friends,

Well just jumped into an unexpected whirlwind. First they found a growth on Pat's larynx, then that was removed, it was not cancer, Praise the Lord. Pat is working hard at giving up smoking. This all happened over the past few weeks. Then I took one of my closest friends to the doctor after an exam turned out to show a cancer growth. We are now going today for a pet scan, then on July 9th the port is put in for the chemotherapy and the radiation starts. Tomorrow we find out if the cancer has spread, and what stage the cancer is.

Prayers are requested. Thanks so much.

my friends,

Thank you for your prayers. My friend has a stage one cancer, and the treatment, although extremely hash and aggressive, has an extremely high cure rate.

I am so happy that the cancer had not advanced and is only in that area.

After hearing the prognosis we went to a lovely French restaurant and celebrated over a divine lunch.

It's hot, hot hot here, but not as hot as some are experiencing. Yesterday we had a brown out for a short while. We were very happy to get our power back.

Hi all and Happy Fourth. We are enjoying a quiet day at home with Savanna. Ed worked at a chicken BBQ for the Lions Club at our local park.
I am enjoying a few days without lots of scheduled events. Played MahJong last night with a few friends. We play every Friday and sometimes in the summer also play Canasta. I love playing games and Ed does not. So he just waves me on as I head out the door!!
Thanks Gail for your kind note.... I am not sure how we handle all that is on our plate but just take it one day at a time. Ed was busy yesterday bailing out my daughter's car. SHe got behind in her payments and it was impounded. She will now have to slowly pay us back for all the fees. But we want her to have a car so she can spend time with Savanna.
We are heading to Pennsylvania next week and then I will fly to Colorado to present at a conference. I don't plan any more trips after that until we take the grands to Disney. Waiting for Disney to release the 2013 package prices since it looks like we will go in January after my son returns from Afghanistan. Hope you are all enjoying your holiday.
