My husband has this idea in his head we can ship our luggage to Seattle or even the cruise ship ahead of time so we don't have to take it on the airplane. Is this feasable? Has anyone ever done it? Was it worth it? How do I do it?
Thanks in advance!

Yes -- there are several companies that will do this -- most prefer to ship to a hotel rather than to a cruise terminal as many cruise terminals do not have a place to store luggage.
It is expensive.

Get a pre cruise hotel and UPS your luggage there. It will be waiting upon your arrival. It is often cheaper than paying airline bag fees.

We ALWAYS ship our luggage.. bring just a small carry on for the essentials. It saves time, and anguish. They are not cheap, But we count it as part of the cruise. We always use "Luggage Free" They are on the internet & you can get all info & prices there. Good Luck

We shipped luggage for the first time when we sailed on QM2. It was pricey but with the fees the airlines charge now and the stress free flight is well worth the cost. We will be shipping our luggage in November and just add that price to our cruise cost.

Don't forget if you add the cost of porters at airport, hotels, dock round trip the cost is not that much more and you travel with only your carry ons.
We use bag forewarding which we found on HAL web site and even with a weekend sailing it cost us about $20/bag more.(delivery is to you stateroom) PS: we are seniors and on this cruise we had 3 large bags. --- It was great -- Bags were picked up at our home and returned to our home.
