We have confirmed our first Lanai cabin. Can anyone give us their thoughts/feedback on these cabins? We are doing a Bermuda cruise and have been spoiled by balcany cabins. It may be one and done. Thanks!

DW and I lucked into a Lanai on the Veendam in June 2010 and had such a good experience that we are repeating the same in 5 days.

Stepping out of your cabin directly onto the Lower Promenade with your own deck chair available was great. We made friends easily with some of the other people who were enjoying their views. DW was also able to take her walks whenever the mood struck her.

We have enjoyed our balcony cabins on another cruise line but this gives a different perspective on the cruise.

BTW there is no way we could swing for the balcony on HAL and DW gets a little claustrophobic in an O/V especially if the ship is rocking
so this gives us a great comprimise.

Enjoy your cruise.

Mine on the Maasdam last month was fine, except that it was too cool in Canada in May.
Having my own deck-chair was nice, even though I couldn't use it much.
One thing to remember is to keep that special key-card with you when using the outside door. Otherwise you can't get back in.
Towards the end of the cruise I had to turn this special key-card into the front desk.

They are the best rooms on the ship (dont't tell anyone!).
