Anyone know what time during the cruising of the St Lawrence River would be best for having a spa treatment. Also any recommendation on which spa service. Thanks.

I'm not sure what you mean by best time for a spa treatment. If it's just a sea day, sailing in the St. Lawrence, whatever time you are comfortable with would be best for you. I know sea days book quickly, so I'd book as soon as you can. I make sure to book my mani-pedi indulgence as soon as the spa opens on embarkation day.

The only view of any significance on the sea day, Quebec City to Charlottetown... if you are extremely fortunate, would be the sighting of beluga whales.

They tend to stay very far away from ships due to their noise sensitivity, so you should come prepared with binoculars.

With the exception of the Island of Orleans, which is a few miles east of Quebec City, and best viewed from the port side, there really is not that much to see on that sea day.

Also no cruise line ever makes you aware that in the vicinity of Rimouski, you will be passing near the submerged Empress of Ireland. There are many web sites dedicated to that particular maritime tragedy.

On my last Canada/New England cruise, there were several talks about the maritime history of the area in which we were sailing. The Empress of Ireland was covered, as well as the Halifax Explosion, the race across the Atlantic in the case of Dr. Crippen, and the Titanic. Maritime history has always been very important and a great focus on the cruises I have been on.

That's good to hear. I agree on the importance of maritime history.

Thanks for the update.
