My wife and I are coffee drinkers. We prefer espresso-based coffee drinks, but since they aren't included in our fare, we plan on sticking to drip coffee.

Anyone have tips for good coffee on N.A.? It seems like there's always a "best" place to get your coffee on these cruise ships.

You can get espresso in the main dining room for free! :)

Expresso is served at the meals in MDR, just ask your waiter for a cup. As already stated, it's free. :)

BTW, what drinks are "free". If DH and I don't drink sodas at all do we need to buy a soda card? Also, I add tea mixes to water to tolerate drinking enough of it, would that be permissible on a cruise? We're going on our first cruise and want a little "heads-up" if you don't mind.

Not sure why you would think about buying a soda card if you don't drink soda.

As others have said, you can get espresso (or a latte) in the main dining room for free during meals. Otherwise, I think the only place to get free coffee is in the Lido. You can also buy coffees at almost any time in the Explorer's Cafe.

For sargemrs - You can get various fruit juices during meals in either the main dining room or Lido during meals. Not sure how long they keep the fruit juices out in the Lido, i.e., if they're there all day. You can also have them delivered via Room Service. And, of course, you can add tea mixes to water, or just get iced tea. No, you don't need to buy a soda card.

Have a great time on your first cruise! And don't be afraid to ask more questions. My motto is "the only dumb question is one you didn't ask".;)

Thanks for info.....I was just wondering if we needed the "card" for ANY drinks, including coffee....but you answered my questions. I add the tea mixers because I like peach tea and tend to drink all of my required water with the tea mixer in it.:)

I didn't realize that espresso drinks were free during dinner. That's good news.
Thanks everyone for the help.
