We're looking to book Westerdam for next Feb. 2006. The itinerary shows the ship in Nassau from 7 am.-12:00 pm. Do you think that's a typo? It seems awfully short, by the time you get off the ship, you'd be getting back on! Especially if you wanted to get up at a reasonable hour and have breakfast!! Just curious. Thanks!!

On some itineraries, only half days are spent in port ... even Nassau sometimes. I agree it isn't much time, but you can enjoy strolling through the straw market and visiting the Pirate Museum.

i we were in Nassau last Friday on the Zuiderdam...we docked around noon time and we sailed out around 7ish PM... I think..we wanted to fo snorkeling and I didn't want to risk missing the ship...so I booked the excursion through HAL..it was with Stuarts Cove who seemed to be the only company we saw out on the reefs.....anyway it was well worth it...it was a great trip...a little short of time at each reef I thought though.....and it was for 4 hours ..we were actually a little late in returning but still had plenty of time to get back to the ship..also the bus ride back and forth was about 40 mins.....it was a lot less stressful knowing that being on a ships excursion I didn't have to worry about the time restraints.....the best part of the whole excursion though was the last of the three stops...we snorkeled with sharks!!!!!! It was really a thilling thing to do..I am so glad I didn't chichen out......Marianne
