I have looked for a waterproof wallet even in a surf shop and some smart a**ed kid informed me that surfers kept their wallets in the car. Help!:(

Check the phone book for your local scuba/diving shops and call them . They may be able to help you.

Just 'Google' it and lots of sites come up. Always use Google and you can find almost everything.

Cathy,

I purchased a PakPak for myself and my husband prior to our cruise. They are not sold as of yet in the US. The site for the manufacturer is here http://www.denko-world.com/, it is a French website. Click on the various links to see different pics of the PakPak in the pouch, etc. You can find them for sale at this website http://www.parelo.com/type.asp?type=17&page=1. They will ship to the US but their shopping cart does not list the US as an option. If you email them at info@parelo.com (info@parelo.com) and request to purchase them, they will sell them to you, they will give you further information in email.

We really liked them, the pouch goes into a mesh bag that can be worn with the included armbands, neckband or waistband. We used just the mesh pouch for the ships card, credit cards etc with the neckband when we were not going in the water. In the water we used the waterproof pouch inside the mesh bag. Nothing ever got wet.

I searched high and low online for waterproof wallets/pouches etc and didn't like anything else I saw, loved this and it was worth the bit of extra effort. Shipping was fast, it got to Maine from France in 4 days. I think including freight it was about $60-70 for both, comparable to much of what I found online and much more versatile and stylish.

http://www.goinginstyle.com/gis/Images/ProductLarge/34008_PH.jpgIs this what you're looking for? Or something similar? This is what is referred to as a water wallet. I found these at goinginstyle.com . There is also what is referred to as a water safe, which is a hard plastic case that you can usually buy on the ship with their logo on it.

Hope this helps -

I believe our own Cruise Critic sells them here, at least a waterproof one for money and cards. http://www.cruisecritic.com/store/product.cfm?ID=26

There you go! Those are the hard plastic ones I was talking about! Although mine is a little wider than that and I can squeeze a chapstick in there along with the photo ID, cruise card, credit card and cash! What more could a woman need??

I have had several of the hard plastic ones but they all eventually leaked and broke at the hinge. I purchased a soft one from Overton's boat supply and I'm happy with it. It's like a heavy duty ziplock with an additional seal.

I have what is called a time problem. We are leaving 3/5 on the Zuiderdam so I don't have any time to order one. I really need something local or would all I need be on the ship. Thanks for all the wonderful suggestions. We live in Va. Beach so any place in our area?:)

You could try a surf shop or beach shop - they'd probably have them. Just let your fingers do the walking and call them up! LOL! Good luck!

I bought DH a hard waterproof plastic case for Christmas at our local dive shop. It's made specifically for divers, is waterproof with room for keys, credit cards, etc. Since you're in Virginia Beach, you shouldn't have a problem!

Good luck and bon voyage.......

Will let my fingers do the walking tomorrow. DH has problems with his Bronco and will be staying home so I will call and he will take my PT cruiser and do the running around. Sounds like a plan to me:p

I let my DH drive my PT Cruiser on a limited basis. Mine is purple my favorite color. I love my PT but with all the packing I have to do while he stands there and says "NEED ANY HELP" I'd just as soon he went somewhere:p Thanks for all the suggestions on my waterproof wallet. If he cannot find one here $5 sounds good to me on the ship.
