When arriving in Vancouver, I understand we need canadian money for some fees at the airport. Does anyone know how much that is? Also, we'll be taking a taxi from the ship to the airport...does anyone know how much that will cost in canadian money? I just want to get the appropriate canadian money in hand before we leave. we are leaving on July 7 to fly to Anchorage for a Denali trip prior to sailing on the 13th. Any help would be appreciated.

The departure fee is $10 Cdn per person if you are flying to the US. You can pay with a credit card at the fee machine if you wish. Figure on $30 - $40 for the taxi fare including tip. The taxi may also take credit cards. Hope this helps.

Just to add, all taxis in Vancouver take credit cards.

Most merchants also take USD here in Canada as well. Of course, right now it will be discounted a bit, since our dollar is worth more.

One thing I forgot to add. The taxi line inside the cruise terminal can be very long. What we did instead of standing in the taxi line was to exit the terminal, walk the short distance to the front of the Pan Pacific Hotel and have the hotel doorman get us a cab. He was able to get us a taxi in less than a minute.

If you exit the terminal to the right it's the Pan Pacific. But if you pass the starbux and go left across the driveway to Canada Place there is a taxi waiting area. You can hop right in and avoid tipping the bellman.

We just got off the cruise ship June 22 in Vancouver. We took the Regents provided bus transfer to the airport. I guess the exit tax was included in our ticket. This whole thing was very organized.
If you go on your own, allow extra time at the airport, because flights heading to the US clear US customs after clearing Canadian security. So while everything at the airport ran smooth when we flew out, there was another line that I hadn't expected.
