I have always done my own laundry when sailing on HAL. However, I thought I remembered reading that you can have your laundry done for you.I feel like being indulgent on my forthcoming cruise. Can someone who is familiar with this give me some feedback. How does the pricing go, what is the turnaround time, any problems with items being lost, etc?

Thank you in advance for your feedback.

We used the $12 a bag service on the Ryndam two weeks ago. The turnaround time was 2 days. Everything (which was really STUFFED into a bag about the size of a pillowcase) came back beautifully, ironed and folded.

unless we get an "S" suite. The price varies by length of cruise. On our 17 day 2003 transatlantic they charged approx. $70. It is well worth it. Clothes come folded or on hangers, your choice. T shirts underwear etc come wrapped in tissue paper in a wicker basket. They do a great job. I've heard about shrinking due to hot water but we never had that problem.

Our problem first time to use the service, was we didn't keep a copy of the list and lost 2 pair of jeans. We never did that again. We haven't lost anything since.

We had some friends on the Oosterdam lose all their undies before disembarking for a week's stay in London. They did get some compensation, but not much.
