Hello again,
I have yet another question folks. Hope someone can add some input. We are using cruise transportation from airport to pier. How has it worked for those of you who used it. Do they have more than one bus meeting pax. Do you have to wait around the airport for all flites to come in? I have visions of arriving early and having to wait hours before we leave for the pier so that others can arrive. Hopefully they do more than one bus. Input please.
Thanks

We used it once and have never used it since - we hate to wait around and then get on a bus. We also waited about 45 -60 minutes to get all the pax together, to the bus, then load the luggage, yuk. A taxi from the airport in FLL to most hotels in the area of the pier never runs us more than $20 or we use the hotel shuttle.

We have used it a few several and have always been satisfied -- met by someone carrying a sign with the name of the ship or line and did not wait very long before departure. Only had one "problem" in NYC when we were taken on a 2 hour tour of the city before being taken to our hotel and had not used the "facilities" in the airport before boarding the bus.

The cruise line's transportation is generally very efficient. However, as noted, there are times you'll wait while the bus fills up. If you are arriving in FLL, I highly recommend you dump the bus and take a cab. Much more efficient ... and cheaper than the ship's transfer.

A lot depends on how far it is from the airport to the pier. In Fort Lauderdale & San Diego, for example, its much quicker, more efficient (and cheaper!) to just get a cab. In Rome, on the other hand, the taxi fare would be more than you paid for the cruise!

Seattle too - it's cheaper to take a taxi!! :)
