I am looking at booking main deck J cabins for our family on the Eurodam. In some posts that I have read there is mention of noise from above. Since there will be young children in our group, having quiet fairly early in the evening is important. Can those of you who have been in main deck J cabins please let me know what your experience was in terms of quiet/noise and include your cabin number?
Thank you.

I had K1116 and a couple of times I had loud music from the crew area behind my cabin (there are some senior staff quarters there) but it didn't last long. EM

I've stayed in many cabins on starboard, closer to mid-ship. The area is primarily under the Queens Lounge, and I have found it quiet there as that venue closes down early (11:00). But that might not be early enough for your purposes.
Also, one time there were many, many families along that passageway, and the kids caused more noise than anything the ship could come up with.

We just got back from a cruise where we were in 1063 for 12 days. Great cabin, but I did notice noise from BELOW. Mostly doors slamming. I assumed crew quarters, because you could hear it mostly around midnight and 6am. I sleep like the dead, so it didn't wake me up, but I could hear it while awake laying in bed. Hope that helps.

The J cabins closer to midship seem to be quieter. We were under the Northern Lights for one cruise, you could hear the bass from the music but the good news was it stopped around 11 pm;).

We went up a category to the I, which had cabins above, below and on either side. Much quieter. The layout was a little different, but it was still quite roomy.

J1048 was lovely...would book it again. See my photos of it on Joanie's website of ship photos. No noise.
