My final payment is due on March 15. I paid 2777 for the 2 of us for this cruise SS class. I noticed on HALs site it is beeing offered for $2688 for 2 people with all taxes.
Am I able to get this lower price? Do I need to contact my TA and she decides? I am not sure how this works. I am not impressed with my TA right now (who is a friends mother in law) she has not gotten back to me about the 50.00 ship credit that I asked 2 times for that she said she would look into.
Any recomendations on how/if I can get the lower rate
Thanks for your help. I know it is less then $100 difference but still its a lot!

You said you "paid" $2777, yet you mention that your final payment is soon due. Have you actually made the payment? If so, it's hard to get a reduction unless the difference is 10% or more. If you have not made your final payment, the reduction should be a slam-dunk for your TA. I would call your TA or, better yet, go by and see her in person. Ask her to intervene on your behalf and oh, by the way, you're still waiting on an answer on the shipboard credit. These folks make a commission. They are supposed to earn it by the service the provide. It doesn't sound like this one is earning her keep. I would suggest that next time you look for another TA.

I know good suggestion!!!! I went through her because I was ticked off with the othr TA I was working with and not giving me fast responses! Then the new TA was fast and swift so I liked her.. looks like it changed! I think I might actually contact the agency itself and get another TA she works with since she is not there EVERYDAY! I have not paid final payment yet. I ment to said I am "suppose to pay"
Thank you for your help.

Hi, I suggest you cancel your original booking and re-book it at the new fare. You then have a NEW booking and should be eligible for the Promo 267. Good luck.

My experience has been that if final payment has not been made yet, then yes, your TA is able to get you the lower rate as long as your cabin category is not a guarantee on HAL's website and is listed as available. My cruise on the Volendam for this month went down 3 times, each time, my TA was able to get me the reduced fare.

First of all, I doubt you got any discount from your TA to begin with. Was the TA price the same as the price on the HAL web site at the time you booked?
Since final payment is not yet due, you don't have to cancel and rebook. That's a good way to lose your cabin assignment.
The good news is you can easily transfer your booking to another TA, probably at a much better price, and keep your same cabin. Simply call another travel agency and tell them you have a booking with XXXX TA you want to transfer. In this case since you're so near final payment, I'd suggest you call one of the "majors" so you know they'll be experienced with the process.
You don't ever have to put up with poor performance from a TA!!!! They are legion and readily replaced.

I have done this at least a dozen times -- I watch the HAL web site and if they show a fare lower than what my billing receipt shows I simply call my TA, she calls HAL and they automatically give us a credit for the difference. It all takes about 5 minutes and there is no need to transfer bookings, etc. or to go through any complicated procedures. If she gives you any problem just talk to the manager/owner of the agency.
Let us know how this works out!!

If the price drops before final payment getting the lower price is EASY jsut call your TA. I have even gotton the lower price after my final payment was made - no problem. Just talked to my TA.

As many have said here often before, this is where a good TA can be worth their weight in gold.
