Ryndam Guarantee - When Will Cabin be Assigned

I booked and paid in full a few weeks ago for the May 5 3-day San Diego - Vancouver repositioning. The only choices available were several categories of guarantee. I learned this cruise is actually advertised as a 10 day Alaska departing San Diego with an interim and then final stop in Vancouver. In fact, I found the 3 day on the Holland America site but many online travel sites aren't showing the 3 day at all. I did look to see what cabins are availalble on Travelocity for the 10 day and found very few left.

When can I expect to get my cabin assignment? I know it can be as late as when I arrive at the pier but is that the norm? If not, what is the norm for Holland America assigning guarantees?

This is a cruise for just my husband and I - a nice long weekend getaway. We are not super fussy but curious nevertheless.

Typically you'll get the assignment a week or two before the cruise. Could be earlier (much earlier), could be on the dock.

Use the on-line immigration form to check every week or so.
