What is the difference between an A, B, BB, BC, etc? Is it just location?

We started with an H cabin and then upgraded to a BC. Now, I have received an email from our TA congratulating us on being upgraded to an A. Other than location, is there anything that makes it different from a BC?

Thanks!

If you are referring to a Vista class ship some of the VA,VB,VC,VD aka A,AA, B,BB, some of the balconys are smaller. Fifth floor mid ship balconys just above the life boats are slightly smaller than the now VA and VBs. At least that is my understanding. On the Zuirderdam and Oosterdam I had then BB catagory mid ship 5th floor and the smaller balconys. The cabins are identical in size and shape.

I havent sailed the Zaandam but I would look up the new cabin location and make sure you like it, if not call your TA and tell them, no thanks you dont want the upgrade, if you like the new location, Congratulations !!! You have been blessed by the upgrade fairy!!!!:) Hope you like it!:)
