While planning our day in Monaco for our upcoming cruise on the Rotterdam May 19, I found some posts that indicated that ships tendered into Monaco, while others said the ship was docked.
Can anyone confirm which one it will be??
Thanks!

I haven`t cruised to Monaco but have been there on vacation and I`m sure you would have to tender. The harbor isn`t all that big and I saw lots of yachts having to tender in.........jean

When we were there a few years ago we had to tender in. Not sure if they still do this though.

We have cruised three times on HAL ships to Monaco and we tendered every time. I think it quite certain you will as well.
It is a magnificent harbor .....fabulously gorgeous, wonderful port.
Have a wonderful day there. It's almost impossible not to.

yes, we tendered there and I thoroughly enjoyed my early morning ashore on my own as my husband was not feeling well. I walked up all of the steps from the tender dock to the up high on a rock city of Monaco, then took the tram that takes you on a little tour of Monte Carlo.

Thank you all for the confirmation that we will be tendering!
Has any of you gone to the train station ? We're thinking of visiting one or two villages or towns we haven't been to yet, and I guess train is the easiest - I'm just not sure how far it is from the pier.
Thanks for all your great comments, it makes planning so much easier!

We tendered into the harbor from the Osterdam in Oct. of 2003 but since then I read that a pier has been built, so perhaps there's a chance to dock.
E-mail or call HAL and ask the question. You may or may not get an answer and if you do it may or may not be accurate.
We walked from the tender landing to the train station and spent the day in Nice visiting the Chagall and Matisse museums. We'd been to Monte Carlo
before but it's certainly worth a visit if you have never been there.

If you get a chance, visit the town of IZE, its a medieval town sitting high on rocks above Monaco, well worth a visit.......jean
