WOW...We had an August 31 excursion in Santorini and just received notice it was rescheduled to September 2...Seems like they just inverted these two ports.

Then that is good news as Santorini was very crowded (5+ ships) and the new date only has one other ship there.:)

That is good information -- especially if the original date at Santorini had 5 ships there -- would have been a zoo.

Sounds much better with this change.

Enjoy Greece and the islands. We loved those ports.

Oh dear! We are leaving on the 26 Aug sailing and have not been notified of any schedule changes. We have private tours booked in both Athens and Santorini on the original dates so will have some urgent emailing to do with each tour company. I wonder what would have happened had we not read the Noordam rollcall. Does HAL only advise passengers with HAL tours of schedule changes?

5 ships in Santorini would have been horrid. One would have thought all passengers could have been notified of the changes but the fine print says they can change any time they want. The HAL excursion passengers probably left their email addresses with HAL so it was easy to notify them. This is one of the advantages of booking through the ship. Also if for some reason the ship can't dock at a port you get your HAL excursion money back. Also if you booked through a travel agent they should have notified you about the changes in your schedule.

If you booked with a TA, they probably we notified. Obviously, if so, they should have advised you.

We booked the cruise through the travel agency which is HAL's local sales agent, and so far haven't heard from them. We took care of these 2 private tours ourselves by email with the respective tour operators. We have already received an emailed confirmation from one, and hope to receive the other OK soon. Checked our itinerary on the HAL website and see the changes have been made.

We had 7 ships when we were in Santorini in June due to a strike in Athens that rerouted several cruise ships. It caused horrendous lines both up and down for the tram, and the Noordam crew probably doesn't want to repeat the experience.

(Our day went fine because we waited until after an early lunch to go ashore, and came back after several of the ships had left.)
