Is it a common practice to receive free gifts on long voyages? We went on a 48 day trip on the Prinsendam in 2009 and got lots of wonderful gifts weekly on our voyage. We even received a nice fleece jacket that really came in handy in some of the cooler ports. We are planning another longer voyage to Hawaii and the South Pacific and wondered if we will also get some nice perks on this voyage.

We didn't get anything on our Hawaiian cruise.

But we did get gifts on our South Amserican cruise.

Seems that gifts are given on some longer cruises and unique itineraries.

Was your Prinsendam cruise part of a Grand Voyage? Grand Voyages (such as a World Cruise, circumnavigation of South America or the Pacific Rim) are the only cruises I know of where 'pillow gifts' are given.

Yes it was considered a Grand Voyage.
Thanks.
