The only ones available are with the excursion I think....Aquatrax.

I'll be taking the Aquatrax excursion myself next week and, considering I have never been on a waverunner in my life, it should be an experience. :)

Please do let us know how it was. We have been seriously considering booking this excursion.
We really enjoy waverunners, especially when you can take them out in the open ocean swells and waves. They are so much fun. My suspiscion is that HAL wont let you go "out to sea" with their waverunners during the tour. They will probably limit your speed, since you'll be in a group. We took a waverunner everglades tour from Marco Island a couple years ago. 2 and a half hours on a waverunner roaming the everglades. That was cool.
One word of caution, if you've never been on one before, be prepared to be quite sore the next day. If you get them up to speed, they can work you over pretty good. I speak from lots of experience. I would reccomend scheduling a massage and spa session the following day :D

One other word of caution. If you have driven a motorcycle don't assume you will master driving a wave runner. On a waverunner you don't lean when turning or you will be in the water. Great way to cool off.

So true, so true. I've found its best not to try to steer with your body. Use the handle bars and the throttle to steer. Its just a small jet boat and drives like one. And, remember, no brakes.

Throttle?? Do these things have gears that need switching when you operate them? Why does this excursion suddenly sound harder than I had hoped? :(

No gears, no clutch, no brakes, no turn signals, no headlights, no windshield wipers, no power windows, no air conditioning, no airbags, no seatbelts, no cd player and no cup holders.
There are the only 4 things you really need. Steering, throttle (like a gas pedal, but not a pedal), seat and unlimited :D
What else do you need?

We are looking forward to this shore excursion. On the ocean they are sooo much fun. We hope we like them. Then it's off to the stingrays. Sister has not ever done that. New experience for her. Cannot wait til FLL Saturday!!!! Already packed. Anxious to cruise.

Oh I plan to have lots of fun next week...with the cold days we have been having up here, Florida and the Caribbean cannot come soon enough for me. :)
Tim, you don't sell used cars do you?? :D

As a matter of fact, I do, sort of. I am a partner in a company that buys, restores and sells vintage Jaguars.
You interested? ;)

:D Now that's funny....I made the comment because of how you explained the non-options on the waverunners, making it sound almost like you were a car salesman. Strange huh?

My son (age 16) can't wait to try this and my not so adventurous DH also said he would give it a go.
I thought it would be a good idea to pre-book this since I'm guessing it might fill up.
I went to the HAL website, found the excursion area put in our booking number, found the AquaTrax option.
We ran into a problem booking this for 3 people along with the Totola Sailaway.
We decided to go for the 10:15 AquaTrax and after hitting continue it said it only had room for 2 of us and the 3rd had to be waitlisted or we could all waitlist and hope something opened.
I figured let just change the time to 11:15 and this is when it got screwy. Changed the time and continue this time it came back and said it there was not room for the 5 of us and samething about waitlisting - odd we are only 3.
Changed to the 12:30 option and now it said 8 of us needed to be waitlisted. We are still 3 people.
Opened a new browser and selected the 11:15am to start with for 3 people plus the Tortola Sailaway and we were all set.
Some sort of software glitch when there isn't room for everyone and you don't want to be waitlisted.
We also noticed no option for booking Hobie Cats - is this not an option any longer or can you not pre-book them.
