My wife and I will be on the July 31 Baltics Constellation cruise and are undecided between the Fjord Cruise and Norwegian Folk Museum and the Viking Heritage excursions. We would appreciate any comments from any of you have taken either of these two excursions. Thank you.

My husband and I spent 8 days in Olso and saw all that you want to see on the excursions. My then future son-in-law, who is Norwegian, took us everywhere with his family. There isn't enough time to see all the wonderful sites,so for the most bang for your dollars, I would take the Viking Heritage excursion. It is quite a lot to see in 5 hrs., but wonderful to see what the Norwegians consider their most important sites in Oslo. He planned our whole trip for us. Nothing like havein your own TA in Norway.

Oslo is a provincial town with a population estimate of 500,000 people. It is an easy town to walk. We took the bus to all the sites mentioned in the Viking Heritage excursion. I never walked so much in my life. After 3 weeks in Scandanavia I came home 3 pounds lighter. Of course that would never happen on a cruise.

I also forgot the Kon Tiki Museum across the harbor in Oslo. Another wonderful excursion.

I hope you have a wonderful time on your cruise.

You should see the Vigelund Sculpture Park on the Viking Tour, and it is fascinating. You will also get some taste of a fjord sailing into and out of Oslo, and the same into Stockholm, if the cruise goes there as well.

In Oslo, we saw the Vigeland Sculpture Garden, the Viking Ship Museum, the Kon-Tiki Museum and the Fram Museum. I recommend them all. If we had more time, we would have toured the Askerhus Complex as well.
