Looking for fellow cruisers following the Southbeach diet... Starting phase 1 on Monday
I would not consider myself to be 'overweight' but I did want to drop a few pounds. I started the South Beach diet on August 1st. As of today (exactly four weeks later) I have lost 13 pounds. I've lost about 2" in my stomach and 1.5" on my waist. The diet is not hard and I am rarely hungry. I am now out of phase 1 and into phase 2 and am not looking to lose any additional weight - just need to maintain. It works and I wish you luck.

I have the South Beach diet book and more or less follow it. I began my lifestyle change on March 30th and as of yesterday I've lost 24 lbs. In the past I've used it also and found even though I don't drop weight like a lot of people do, it still works. It seems to be a healthy way to live and it is something you don't get bored with.
I wish you luck on SB and don't give up if you don't lose like some folks say they do. We are all different, have different bodies and a truly good diet is one you can live with for a long time. One reason I'm not saying I'm dieting but rather I've decided to change my life! Good luck!!!;)

I've been doing SB since early June and am down 31 lbs so far. I've actually hit my pre vacation goal now and still have two weeks to go. This coming week I'm going to do a phase one boost before we leave and the week following my return I'll be doing phase one as well....a kind of detox from the carbs. I intend to eat what I want when I'm away,it is a vacation, but I know that overeating is less likely because of how much I feel it when I do now...going out to dinner and such. I finally found my limits with food.

You have done great!! I've been working on my diet/lifestyle change since 30 March and lost 25! Thought that was good, but you've dropped six more lbs than me, and in two months less time!! WAY TO GO!!
Keep it up gang. We can do this!

Thanks and congrats to you too! 25 is amazing! I remember when I hit it. I was in awe because I felt like I finally hit a milestone for me. I love this diet and while it is very much a lifestyle change, one I know I'll need to maintain for life, its what works best for my body and blood chemistry and something I can live with. At this point its second nature to me. My challenge is exercise.

Lifestyle change is exactly what I call it and yes, with time it does become a habit, but a good one. No scales available to me as we travel yet I know I can still make this work!:). Exercise is also my challenge and right now with this sinus problem even more so but I can still eat sensibly and maintain. I was a bit worried I might weaken and if and when I do, it will only be for a little taste of something. Six months of work and dedication is going to stick with me and eventually I will be down where I need and want to be.
Keep up the good work everyone!!:D
