We received a free Pinnacle upgrade with our package. Can you make a reservation ahead of time with this? I know that you can call and they will charge it to your credit card but ours is free. Anybody have any idea how this works?

This Pinnacle Upgrade is new. Who are the folks getting the upgrade and is HAL itself giving it or is it a gift from one's TA? If HAL is giving it, why and to whom?

Peaches,
I don't know what standford's girl's Pinnacle deal is but I have seen some offers from TA's. Seems like a couple of them have advertised a night at the Pinnacale included in the price.

I know some TA's give their clients dinner in the Pinnacle as a thank you gift, but this reference to a 'Pinnacle UPGRADE' is new and sounds official, gizmo, if you know what I mean.

Maybe the word "upgrade" wasn't the right choice of word.:(
Our TA told us it was included in the price along with wine, photos, and shipboard credit.

Thanks for the explaination. I think the best person to ask is your TA since she is providing it. I would think that she could call Hal and make the reservation.
Have a good cruise.:)

Truthfully, now I am even more confused. This is way more than just a dinner gift from your TA. It sounds like a special HAL gift package of some kind?

We received (supposedly) free dinner the first night in Pinnacle as a part of our American Express Platinum benefits-$300 per cabin onboard credit, champagne, and Pinnacle for two first night. Ship services would not take a reservation in advance unless we were paying with a credit card, so on departure day I went to Pinnacle around noon and made a reservation-they had no record of it being comped by Amex but he took my word for it. Never did see the bottle of champagne either, but did receive the onboard credit. I am not a fan of champagne from Madera CA anyway.

This all came from my TA. As other have said " It pays to have a good TA".:)
Maybe she got some kind of a deal from HAL? I don't know.

You might what to check the Oosterdam Mexican Riveria thread by Nobbync.
1) When I booked this cruise we got a package that included dinner for 2 at the Pinnacle as well as 1 8x10 photo and 2 bottles of wine. On Sunday I still did not receive anything so I thought I’d inquire at the front desk. They just told me I had to check with my TA since they did not have it. I asked if they could check with HAL to see if they forgot. The lady I talked to insisted I contact my TA first. I sent him email and since it was Sunday he would call on Monday. Monday he sent me an email saying HAL was going to send it in but as of Monday night, nothing… I kept checking with the front desk. Tuesday still nothing. It didn’t come in till Wednesday of a 7 day cruise that started Saturday. Found out that there were a few others with the same problem. I don’t expect much from this but in this day and age with the internet I am not sure why it took so long to confirm this from the main offices. At the least it was inconvenient and it also cost me about $15 in internet . All I can say is if anyone gets these free services please check with your TA before you leave to verify it. My TA just had HAL verify everyone, on future cruises, had all the extra items but I would also check before leaving.
