Looking at future possibilities I found a HAL World Cruise leg from Cape Town to Brazil and finally to FLL. I thought there price was quite high but then the itinerary is a rare one. Are there any World Cruise buying strategies I should know about? And what is the HAL on-board reservation policy toward World Cruises. Someone told me that you have to put more money down and may not be able to combine credits.

There is a travel agency that has a pretty good sized group on the HAL Grand Voyages (such as the World Cruise). They have decent group rates and other perks. However, CC rules prohibit anyone from giving out the name of this agency (or any other).

Look on the world cruise post and see if the agency is mentioned. I may have seen the name there.

I have found that the famous west coast TA does NOT have the best prices. Do your homework and you can find a better price and better perks

Agree 100%. They give about 6% back in OBC and and other freebies. You should be able to get 9 to12% from many TA's.

Our usual TA could beat their prices, but for us having their private shore ex as an option was worthwhile. Everyone needs to look at all the options and decide what is best for them.

Sure wish I could find out the TA you are talking about. Any suggestions on where I should start looking (I know that posting a specific TA is forbidden on CC).

Read some of the post from the World Cruise by Bill & Maryann. Maybe you can figure out the name of the agency.
