Irene is really a humdinger. She's being quite naughty. With that said, has anybody heard what kind of damage there was to HMC and to the Turks and Caicos. I heard last night that Turks and Caicos had lots of damage and that was reported on Fox News. But that's all they said. I certainly hope that the people that live there are safe and well. I hope neither sustained severe damage plus we will be there in November. My heart goes out to all who have suffered with Irene.

I saw some news video taken in Turks & Caicos before the brunt of the storm arrived. Things looked pretty bad then. I'm sure it only got worse.

Just got an e-mail from friends who live in Grand Turk and I'm quoting them: "You wouldn't know that a hurricane had been here, except for the flooded streets. It's beautiful today, sunny and calm".

Hope this helps!

Thank you for that email update from Grand Turk. We were praying that it would not be another Hurricane Ike total disaster. The Independent {UK} has a quote from a government official on Grand Turk who stated no major damage nor injuries. Keep us updating as you receive additional emails. Very sparse news.

News from Jack's Shack on Grand Turk was good. His family/business came through safely.

 Both islands dodged a bullet. On HMC minimal damage to vegetation and the main beach that will be easily repaired. All horses are fine with no injuries. HA will resume visits on 10/13/11-Carnival on 9/4/11.

The Grand Turk Cruise Center suffered only minor damage. Cruise ships resumed docking on Saturday August 27th. In additional to HA 6 other lines use the cruise center which had a record year in 2010 with over 625,000 cruisers.

you will possibly get grilled free range chicken at the barB que station rather than the frozen Purdue that you get on board.

weren't bad. Maybe if they had a moose or two on the island the Canadian might laugh.

Can you say moose burger?

That is enough to kill the appetite!

Hi Benny Salami

Thank you for the information...what a relief - now we are saying prayers for the Northeast - what a mess it is up there!!
