11 days till the cruise and I just realized this morning I hadn't made Hotel reservations for the dogs or ourselves! I got lucky and booked the LAST run at the Vet's for the dogs, but not so lucky for ourselves.:( Looks like we might be staying further from Port Canaveral and Parking at the Port. Radisson is overbooked (Looks like 7 families will be sharing rooms...?). Clothing, shoes, Birth Certificates etc. are handled... I think...What else am I forgetting:confused: ?.
Also, what do you think about packing beach towels. We plan to head off on our own on Tortola and St. Thomas. Can you just grab some as you leave the ship?

No, you absolutely don't need beach towels. When you go to the gangway there's a huge bin there and they hand out all the towels you need. Just takes up a lot of space.
Did you check all hotels in the area? I can't believe there's nothing available for you!
Well, at least the dogs are set! That's the most important part! And don't forget those passports;) !

Try the Courtyard in Cocoa Beach. It's not very far (maybe 4 miles) and it's very nice.

Thanks Heather,
I'm sure there is a Hotel available! I've only checked 9 of the major "Brands" in the Cocoa Beach area. I think if I work my way inland, I will find something.:) I'm actually more worried that there is something I'm forgetting that I can't work out at the last minute!

Do a search for hotels in Port Canaveral on this board. I know I have read about more than 1 hotel. I am glad I am not staying at the Radisson, 4 in a room is enough. Glad you found a temporary home for your dogs. It is very hard to get a room for animals during school holidays in Southern Maryland. One other item you might consider if you are doing the Baths in Tortola is some kind of water proof wallet and definetly a waterproof camera. There are no lockers that I know of.

My DW has solved the whole packing problem for our upcoming 12 day cruise.....now I just have to figure out how to get the triple dresser in the back of the Jeep. Driving and not flying to a cruise for the first time has opened a whole new set of possibilities. I don't know how many times I heard "Well....at least I don't have to worry about weight limit this cruise" this past weekend as DW kept carrying stuff to our "staging area" in the guest room. As for me.....I hope those little wheels hold up on my two bags as I tow them behind the truck.

I found it! It was in the "How old are you" thread: Cruise Critic Message Boards - How Old Are You? (http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?p=1778411&highlight=milk#post1778411)The posts about milk delivery go back to August 2004 so I think my memory (at least) is doing pretty great for a little old lady.

Heather,
What a great list. My list just got longer, too. The flask seems rather odd. I am sure my husband will want to pack that item.
Localady,
Good luck on the hotel, sounds like Sardine City.

You've got to remember that Laura lives way out in the boonies. The milk is probably delivered by the farmer next door still in its 'original' container!

The milk comes in glass bottles, and boy it sure is good! Cheaper than buying it in the store too! ;)
Something to be said for livin' in the boonies, huh? ;)

Thank goodness it's just my friend and I staying at the Radisson that night...when traveling with the kids, we usually book adjoining rooms. Would NOT want to start our cruise off on the wrong foot O_0
Good luck finding a hotel rich...I'm sure it won't be a huge problem:)

JaniceB - I am having the same problem! I have started a "preliminary" preview of what I want to take - our dining room is my current "staging" area and DH passed through over the weekend and just scowled at the shoes - fortunately, I was able to blame some of them on DD, but it backfired. He said, "If you two can wear some of the same shoes and SHARE them, it means less shoes to take, period." - which isn't exactly what I hoped his reaction would be - I thought he'd compliment me on my ability to pick pairs we both could wear.
I was trying to EXPAND my shoe selection, not reduce it...

Here I've been going nuts getting Birth Certificates, my passport, hotel room, amtrak reservations, etc., and forgot to call the vet to board my cats! Thank goodness for the board, or I would have probably pulled up to the vet to drop them off and found the kennel was full! I've got a 22 pound Maine Coon/Persian cross, and a 17 pound "cat" (both rescues from abusive homes, don't get me started) and they'd be heart broken to know they weren't always in my thoughts....
Well, back to making cat food money...;)
