DW has taken a while to get the pics from our end-of-January Mexican Riviera cruise ready but, in her defense, she's trying something new. Since her sister refuses to connect her PC to the internet, DW created a slideshow and burned it to DVD. The slideshow is actually a single file streaming video, but I've uploaded in two different formats:
http://vquill.com/gallery/mexico05/mexico05.wmv (http://vquill.com/gallery/mexico05/mexico05.wmv) (Windows Media Format)
http://vquill.com/gallery/mexico05/mexico05.mpg (http://vquill.com/gallery/mexico05/mexico05.mpg) (MPEG format)
The Mpeg is much larger than the wmv file, so go with the latter if you can.
enjoy!

Thanks for posting, Dave. We're considering cruising the Mexican Riviera or Sea of Cortez. How do you personally rate the itinerary you had with other cruises you've taken? My DW is not sure there's that much to see down Mexico way.

Had to edit them out - everytime one would come up the screen would go black, then blue (http://www.scorpioncity.com/images/crash/m/bsod.png)Something about not enough memory to hold all of me!

We liked it. It compares to a Caribbean trip, but not as crowded. The beaches aren't quite as nice, but we're not "lay on the beach" people so that didn't matter. We thought the shopping was better and there were fewer hawkers on the streets. WE'd go back, maybe not every year, but for the occasional restful cruise (i.e., don't bother getting off the boat).

Dave, I loved the pictures ... watched them "full screen". I particularly liked the one of you fishing off your verandah!!!
A lot of work on DW's part ... thanks so much for sharing with us:D

Great pictures. Thanks for sharing. They brought back lots of memories. We were down/up that coast in October. Particularly liked the whales which were no where in sight in the late Fall.

Oh, sorry! I'm told the whales mormally show up in December. On the whale watch, they mentioned that the big ones appeared to be headed out to Hawaii early this year and that by later this month they might already be gone.

Hey, all I do is carry the camera bag (and the shopping bags, but that's a different thread  ) !
TYMAN - I've been known to have trouble drawing a straight line even with a ruler, so sand sculpture is well beyond me! (I was going to say something about 'drawing to an inside straight' - but I don't do that very well, either!)

The pictures are amazing. I liked viewing them full-screen. I wonder if the people in the little boat were scared of the big whale. That must have been amazing to see the whale so close.
Thanks for sharing them.

Please tell your DW that we enjoyed them immensely. :) She is a great photographer, you are lucky! DH likes to photograph all the portholes for some odd reason...

I am indeed very lucky that she lets me come along on her photo safaris!
[well, I do have to act as pack mule, driver, event planner, purchase negotiater and restaurant picker. But isn't that the way with all artists?]:)

Great pictures, thanks for posting. After too many cruises on the East coast we are hoping to be on the Osterdam sometime next year! Loved all of the pics but the cabin ones were great.

¡Que bueno tus fotografías! A mí, me gustaba mirarlas y espero que un día podamos viajar al Costa de Oro. ¡Gracias por compartir!
The Oosterdam is a beautiful ship, isn't she?......... Hoping to sail her again and this intinerary looks like a winner.

Thanks. The MPEG is uncompressed and is surprisingly lower quality than the 12 meg Windows Media Format. But we did feel it was important to have something that our non-Microsoft using friends and family could actually view. Need the MPEG format to burn to DVD, also.
Have you put your films on DVD?
jbhcw & woodburykt: If I've enticed you to Mexico's west coast from the Caribbean, then my work is done.

Nearly all macintosh users either have, or can download, the Windows Media Player to pay Windows Media Files. I just prefer QT files more than Windows media ... and, after viewing the Windows file, I thought the QT file worked just fine.
Yes, I've burned DVDs of my videos, as well as DVD photo slide shows of my photos.
