I was hoping not to post this message. We booked our Transatlantic from Barbados and the confirmation showed a complementary overnight in Miami. We were more than surprised when the tickets arrived to find that we are on a redeye flight and the overnight had been withdrawn. Our travel agent has tried very hard to get them to relent but to no avail.

We paid for deviation on the return and would have investigated an outbound deviation if we had not believed they had committed the overnight in Miami.

As we live on Vancouver Island we have to travel Victoria-Vancouver-Toronto-Miami-Bridgetown. I don't understand their decision process when they are going to deliver two overtired customers, who have travelled for 24 hours, at about 8pm to the Insignia . I could have booked daylight flights Victoria-Toronto for $209+taxes myself instead of the $69 it cost to fly Victoria- Vancouver. As I have already paid the taxes to Oceania by my reckoning they have made us very annoyed for about $130cdn apiece. I even offered to pay and they would not do anything for us. The airline advised that the issuing agent could have changed the ticket so I am afraid I don't think they bothered to try. I consider this a sub-three star experience with some integrity lacking.

We are still really looking forward to the cruise and are confident that the shipboard experience will be great.

John-
I was holding my breath (after I read your post) until I got my final documents.
Not to rub salt in your wounds, but our Air worked out perfectly! JFK to Barcelona, nonstop direct, outbound; Istanbul to JFK nonstop direct, homeward. We were even able to arrange our seating, just as we wanted it, through Delta.
We payed the $50.00 per person deviation fee, of course, but, unbelievably, that gave us carte blanche to pick any flight on any airline!
I can see why you wouldn't deviate away from the "free" overnight in Miami, however, I wouldn't either.
Frankly, this is the worst example of shoddy behavior that I've ever heard Oceania accused of. I'm sorry it happened to you.
Why not write to the Oceania Air people, and copy the CEO? You may still be stuck on the crummy flight, but, chances are, they'll buy you a bottle of wine, or give you a free massage for your inconvenience.
Don't let the small stuff get in the way of enjoying yourself!
Have a Great Trip
Jim
