Hi I wonder if someone can help me with a few questions, this is my first HAL cruise

1 On Princess, you can book and then cancel shore excursions until the day before the excursion. It doesn't seem like you can do that with HAL, have I got that right?

2 This isn't HAL exactly, but I saw a lower price for my cruise uesterday (nearly £1000 less) and my online TA has agreed to match it, but said they won't do it again. Is this a usual response? I would have thought they would match it if the price goes down again, the final payment date isn't until June.

Thanks for you help, Soraya

for shorex you will have to pay when you book. If you cancel up to 10 days before you leave, your credit card will be credited. On board, if you cancel up to the deadline listed on the shorex forms, it will be without penalty but it will be credited to your shipboard account. If you cancel after the posted deadline, you may be able to substitue another tour, but usually you will forfeit the fee.
This is for any reason including illness.

Seeing the TA is affected by your 1000 pound reduction, he probably doesn't want to chance another hit on his commission, but no, most TA's won't make a statement like that, most would eat it. He really doesn't have to match the lower fare but doesn't want to lose your business. People have changed TA's for statements like that, but at least he was upfront. A 1000 lb reduction is nothing to sneeze at especially with what it is in US dollars. You just may want to take it, even though his response was not what you expected.

Remind the TA that there are plenty of agencies ready and willing to take your money - and HAL will gladly help you switch your reservation to another one. After all, it's your money and you can chose where to spend it!

Enjoy!
