I thought I had been told somewhere along the way that I had 60 days after making a booking directly with HAL to transfer the booking to a TA if I wanted to. I am getting close to 60 days since I made the booking so I called HAL today to ask about the process. The HAL agent I spoke to told me that there was no time limit on making the transfer except that it couldn't be paid in full. Has anyone else heard about the 60 day limit? Maybe I'm thinking of another line that has that rule????

I don't want to miss the 60 day limit if there is one, but if there really isn't one I might watch prices/offers for a bit longer.

Thanks!!!

Other lines have the 60 day limit but not HAL. Now that doesn't mean they might change the rules. If they do, hopefully they will give us time to transfer to our agent.

I am sitting with 3 cruises I haven't transferred, 1 Sept 2012, 1 Jan 2013, 1 Sept 2013. They all will be transferred to a travel agent prior to final payment.

I have sailed only with HAL for my last several cruises, and I have never heard of a 60 day limit to transfer a cruise from them to a travel agent. I usually only book the future cruise deposit on board, and not a specific cruise. When I have decided on a cruise, I let the travel agent know that I have a future cruise deposit, and the travel agent gets confirmation of my deposit from HAL, and books my cruise, using my $100.00 deposit. You have 4 years from time of booking the deposit, to use it up, and I was told by someone in customer service that it wouldn't really expire.

True for RCCL and partners. I haven't heard of this with HAL or anybody else.

I tried to use my FCC for a May 2012 booking, thinking that if I booked before it expired in December of this year, I could use it, but HAL wouldn't let me use it for next May. My travel agent was told the cruise had to be taken before the FCC expired.
