I am new to this blog. I am going to Alaska in July 2012. Do to time constraints and Princess changing around their land tour options we now have to go and use Holland America (aka GrayLine) for our land tour and then board Princess' Sapphire Princess for our cruise.

We are doing 2.5 days in Fairbanks, 2 days in Denali, and 1.5 days in Anchorage before boarding Princess' Sapphire Princess.

Can anyone comment on HAL land tours especially the McKinley Chalet Resort?

Any comments on either the HAL or Princess portion of my trip.

Thanks for any & all comments.

Welcome to Cruise Critic! :)

When we were there in 2007 the McKinley Chalet Resort consisted of 28 guest-room buildings and three others for the main lodge, gift shops, and restaurants, etc. Some of the original guest-room buildings (A thru J) are pretty rustic. The Chalet Canyon Lodge building (CL) that we were given was the newest one at that time, and was a very nice "rustic style" modern hotel. (pics below) Nice lobby area with free wi-fi. Self-service laundry room.

We enjoyed staying there, but didn't think the Cabin Nite Dinner Theater was worth the money. Mediocre food and a corny show.
