Hello all. Booked my first cruise aboard HAL. Quick question. I've always read that the staff is from the Philippines and Indonesia, but there has been some recent material suggesting that there are some eastern europeans as well??? Just wondering. Thanks

The housekeeping staff and dining room staff are predominantly Indonesian. The bar staff is primarily Filipino. Hotel staff, Cruise directors & entertainers are mainly Canadian & US. Casino & Pinnacle Grill staff are primarily European, with an emphasis on Eastern European. Ship's officers are mainly Dutch & Scandanavian while sailors tend to be Indonesian.

Thanks for that response. I was also curious about the crew composition, too. I think that meeting people from different countries on the ship makes the cruise interesting, along with all the other fascinating things that happen on board.
