Hello All!
I'm wondering if anyone can tell me a little more about the Sports Bar aboard the Oosterdam. I'm on the 3/26 sailing, and wouldn't you know it, its right in the middle of March Madness. As you can tell by my sign in name, I'm into college hoops in a big way. So, I'm wondering if the Sports Bar actually pulls a satellite feed in order to show live sports or if its just a bar with a sports theme?
Thanks guys!
Lori

Sorry, Lori, but I wouldn't count on it.
The Sports Bars on the Vista ships have tv's and they do show sports events. They try to get satellite feeds for such things as Superbowl and World Series etc but even then they are sometimes unable to get the link. Not to mention that it is very costly.
You may be pleasantly surprised but it is very likely IMO

I was on the Veendam last year during the championship game, and they did have it on large screen TV at the sports bar. The rest of the time the TV's were tuned to ESPN International, which means you get to watch soccer 24/7.

Thanks for the info guys!
I guess I will have to learn all about soccer if I want to get my sports fix while aboard! :)

I was on the Oosterdam last year during March Madness. During the first part of the cruise (Westerner Caribbean) we were able to catch some games. Somewhere along the line we sailed far enough south that all I noticed was South American soccer. Even CNN was the international version and reporting of scores/results became nonexistent. Oh well.....it was a cruise and I caught up once we got back to Ft Lauderdale.
