I know that the Ryndam is relatively small for a cruise ship. Will she be able to dock in downtown Hamilton when she visits Bermuda on her transatlantic crossing in April, 2012? Or will she dock at King's Wharf? Does anyone know?

She should be able to dock in Hamilton (barring anything going on there) since Veendam, her near sister, does every week during the Bermuda season.

Ryndam and Veendam are sister ships.

There is no reason why she should not be able to dock in downtown Hamilton.

The Ryndam hasn't had the modifications that added stern cabins and "duck tail", so it may be possible for the ship to get into St George's harbor if the Hamilton dock is not available.

www.hollandamecia.com (http://www.hollandamecia.com) and www.Cruisetimetables.com (http://www.Cruisetimetables.com) has the following information on the Ryndam:

Cruise Schedule: Tampa, Florida (http://www.cruisetimetables.com/cruises-from-tampa-florida.html) (01 Apr d1700); Hamilton, Bermuda (http://www.cruisetimetables.com/cruises-to-hamilton-bermuda.html) (05 Apr 0800-1700);

Always subject to change!

They can't both be at the Front Street pier, can they?

In the "old days" when Home Lines was doing the Bermuda run there were 2 ships in Hamilton (the Atlantic) and not sure of the other; so, yes 2 ships can dock on Front Street.

Sorry, not anymore. Bermuda tore down the second cruise ship terminal in Hamilton and it's now a parking lot. So only one ship at a time in Hamilton

"Front Street (http://www.bermuda-attractions.com/bermuda2_000080.htm) is the main bustling place of Hamilton with all the glittering shops, best of restaurants and activities. Hamilton city has 2 cruise ship berths. Both can take ships of up to 750-foot. So only small to medium size ships can dock here".

Other Bermuda information sites also stated 2 ships can be docked in Hamilton.

Just clicked on your link and did not see anything about "2 cruise ship berths", all it says is "There is a cruise ship berth right opposite to Front Street. Smaller ships sometimes call this port. During the cruise-ship season, the Front Street often becomes quite crowded."

We have been sailing and flying there for years and believe me, there is only ONE ship terminal in Hamilton. This picture is where the second terminal used to be.

Below are the links that I am quote from:

http://www.bermuda-online.org/cruises.htm (http://www.bermuda-online.org/cruises.htm)

City of Hamilton (http://bermuda-online.org/seecity.htm)

No free WIFI Hotspots.Bermuda's highest-rated port by a huge margin, also the most central, easiest to get to and from, with biggest choice of shopping and facilities. Two Rock Passage has been the entrance to Hamilton Harbour since 1896. A huge advantage here is that passengers can walk off ships docked here and be right in the city. A port city for hundreds of years and Bermuda's single main attraction and main shopping area by a very wide margin. The city is central (15 miles from the Town of St. George (http://www.bermuda-online.org/seetown.htm)) and has 2 cruise ship berths, the # 1 Passenger Terminal; and # 5 & 6 Passenger Terminal. Both can take ships of up to 750 feet in length - small and medium-size cruise ships. From here there are frequent by-day buses and ferry service going east to the Town of St. George (about 1 hour) and west to the Royal Naval Dockyard (http://www.bermuda-online.org/rnd.htm) (about 1 hour). The 1,350-guest Veendam, 720 feet, will visit both Hamilton and St. George's from April to October, staying two-and-a-half days in each port. Veendam is a premium mid-sized ship, meaning it can navigate the narrow entrances to Bermuda's harbours.

My apologies if they are out-dated.

Ryndam is an "S" class ship just like the Veendam is. However, it does not have the overhang that the Veendam has. In my opinion, the Ryndam is a much nicer ship!

There is ONE berth for cuise ships in Hamilton.

You docs may say 'Hamilton' but it could mean that you dock at Kingswharf and then tender into Hamilton.

StephenSo with the Azmara Journey and Ryndam both there, is there any way to predict which goes where?

Could it be that one comes into port when the other leaves? Just saw that the Journey will also be in St. George's. Maybe they will be going to St. George's first while the Ryndam is in Hamilton????
