I'm on the May 14 Zuiderdam. Hal's website shows that there are cabanas available, but when we try to book one, it says we are waitlisted. Anyone else have this problem?

They became available today for the Oct. 8th sailing of the Zuiderdam, I was able to book the pink one. It was only open two or three hours and some were already booked when I got ours.

Did you do this on-line, or did you call? I'm on the Zuiderdam Nov. 5th and I don't want to miss out on one.
Thanks....Mary

I discovered that you have to check each cabana individually to determine which ones are actually available and which are waitlisted. Once you find one that lets you book it (doesn't say "waitlisted"), be sure to "cancel" the waitlisted ones. A very convoluted reservation system if you ask me.

I called for the cabana, it was faster and less of a hassle than booking online. Any other shore excursions I take through HAL I book online.

we got the dark blue one. Was that a bad choice? The only other one I heard was bad was the yellow one.

Ummm, ok. They are all on the same Island. In fact, they are all in the same neighborhood. Hmmm, last time I was there, they were all oceanfront properties, too. I dont get it.
Oh well, what do I know?

Well Tim it's just like when some people book a cabin on the ship. Some people want to be near the elevators, some want to be midship, some want to be as close to the lido deck as possible.
Same goes for the cabanas. Certain ones are closer to the food, some closer to the restrooms, etc. :)

BillDark Blue one is good, they all are good, it just depends on the location your looking for, the Blue one is close to the food, restrooms, and people. The yellow & pink are the farthest away and far from food, restrooms and people and some want it that way. They are all the same layout, the only difference is the location and colors :)

Thanks Ziggy. I was going to change but I feel better now. The turquoise one is available still but for some reason I couldn't get it yesterday. I'm going to stay put . :)
