Hi, everyone.
I just booked a 7 night WDW vacation with 4 nights at the resort followed by the 3 night cruise. I was wondering how the transfer from the park to the port works. Specifically, I would like to spend the morning we sail at MK and head over to the port around noon or 1 pm. Can you pick your transfer time or does Disney make that decision.
Is there a formal night on DCL? What is the required attire for dinner?
I'm sure I'll have more questions, but that's it for now. Thanks for any input.

Hey
I have never done land/sea but i have done 4 night wonder(same ship ) the formal night is a HUGE mix....some people just wore black slacks and a sweater..and some men had jackets and ties..it depends on the person..on our first disney cruise i was very dressed up (like prom dress) for the second cruise i wore my easter dress..I would bring a nice and somewhat nice outfit..depending on what the crowd looks like depends on how you might want to dress...also (you wont know this until you arrive onboard) if tritons is your last night resturant it tends to be dressier..but if you are at parrot kay or animators pallet it is more casual..hope this helps!

There is no formal night on the three or four day cruise, but the night you dine in Tritons, it is more dressy. That being said, many dress for Tritons the same way as for the other restaurants (khakis, dockers or slacks and polo shirts for the men, pants or capris and blouse, sundress, etc for the women.) The buses to the port leave from the hotels on DCL's schedule. Basically the only choice you have is to take the bus from your resort, or to spend the morning at Animal Kingdom and take the bus from that park (around 12:30-1ish).

When Leaving the resort to the Cruise, the buses have scheduled times based upon which resort you are in.... You do not have a choice of departure times... Most like they range from 10 to 11am

I don't know about the times the buses leave from other resorts, but the AKL bus left at about 12ish and was also the bus used to get people using the spend the morning at AK option. I have a feeling the 10 am to 11 am guess may be a bit early, even for the other resorts. Many years ago we did the land sea and stayed at Caribbean Beach and it too left closer to 12-12:30.

Thanks for the replies. My TA is going to try to get more info more me when we get closer to it. Since we are paying for a 5 day pass, I would like to be able to actually use it for 5 days! We will be staying at the Port Orleans-French Qtr resort for our land portion, so we will see when we have to "catch the bus" from there.

Both times, I only remember being given the option of spending the morning at Animal Kingdom. Then took the bus to the port.

Hi, I just got back last week. You are given the option of being picked up at Amimal Kingdom at noon the day of the cruise. They do not pick up at any other park.
There is not a "formal night" on the ship, but they have a "dress up night". People wore a range of clothing, I would suggest a nice sundress for ladies. It is in the Navigator each day that explains which night is which.
Hope this helps!

Thanks so much for the info. I need to rethink which parks we will do which day now. Am I a compulsive planner? Why, no, why would you think that? ;)
My dh is at the point of "just tell me what to wear and lead the way!"
