I've been checking air ticket prices one-way to San Diego from Seattle for the past month for our May 5 Ryndam repositioning cruise to Vancouver. It's been 169.00 on Alaska, a nonstop, forever. I checked yesterday afternoon and it was down to 85.00. Immediately after, it jumped back to 169.00. Maybe a fluke in their system but I was thrilled :-)

Can you tell me what time it was when it went down? I have heard that on certain days of the week and at certain times, it will drop. I'd like to check it out the next couple of weeks and see if this holds true.:)

Glad you also got a great fare with Alaska, they are always my first choice.

We were lucky to get an introductory fare from Vancouver, BC to San Diego for

our 4 day Oosterdam cruise on April 30, for $68 plus taxes. For two of us it

came to $219. But I think it was in January we booked this flight. Since then

that 7:10 am flight has shown sold out, but recently seats have shown

availability at + $200. each.

Look under promotions for current seat sales, and book quickly as they sell
out fast.;)

I booked these yesterday, Thursday, at 1:30 PM. I've heard airlines usually do inventory shifting at midnight on Tuesday and best fares can be found on Wednesdays.

But, I've been checking this fare for almost a month, once in the morning, and once later in the day. When I found the price change I immediately booked it as this was the first time it moved down from 169.00. It wasn't there in the morning, I booked at 1:30, and when I checked again in the evening for the heck of it, it was back to 169.00.

Thanks for the great info travellady. I usually check at night but I'll start doing it a couple times a day. I'd love to stumble on a cheaper airfare.:D
