I saw a post on another site yesterday that Daniel Green, former Staff Captain, has been promoted to Captain. He is a delightful man, Swedish, very funny and speaks impeccable English... good news for everyone who has met him, I would say and for those who will cruise with him!
Only problem is I cannot figure out which ship he will be on (nor can I remember if we cruised with him on the Navigator this last Jan or the mariner in 2010!!). Anyway, nice to have him as a Captain.

My impression is that Daniel Green will be on the Navigator since John McNeil was transferred to the Voyager

We were on the Navigator this past March and John McNeil was the Captain.

Currently, Ubaldo Armellini is the Captain on the Navigator.

We were on the Navigator May 2010 through the canal and Captain Mc Neil was on board. The first time I had seen a Captain interact with the passengers. He played shuffleboard, lunched on deck and the last day of the Shuffle board tournament he showed up in his Kilt and a baseball cap turned backwards. It was so nice to see.

Then it must be the Navigator. Since the other post mentioned Captain Aremelini as the "alternate"...
I must say that I cannot imagine anything worse than a baseball cap worn backwards. I always thought John McNeil had impecable taste. Now, I wonder! Kilt is jsut fine...and I love the "Amazing Grace" on the pipes when the ship sails. But a backwards baseball cap! Mon dieu!!

I assume that Captain Daniel Green will take over on the Navigator when Captain Ubaldo Armellini goes on vacation. He boarded in early September so my assumption he'll go home sometime in November

I adore him! We had dinner with him several times. Once on the Navigator when he had just started dating one of the adorable dancers. It was so cute to have dinner with them and watch them make eyes at each other.
I was delighted to see him and have dinner with him a couple of months ago on the Voyager and he said that they were still dating but on different ships but he was still smitten. We had quite a conversation about the "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" series. Such fun! I'm so happy that he's been promoted.

I adore him too. Such a fun guy! I liked to tell him that he looked like Clint Eastwood. He liked that.

We were with Daniel on the Auckland - San Francisco cruise last year. He is one of the most personable of ship's officers. Being game players, he often was around when Ashley ran the activities, so we were able to spend some time with him. One evening at cocktails he told us his goal was to be Regent's youngest Captian. I wish him much success.

We, too, had a wonderful dinner/evening with Daniel on our last cruise. We've had the pleasure of sailing with him more than once and he's always been highly visible. Congratulations, Daniel, on a well deserved promotion.
