Segways in Nice

Our cruise offers an excursion in Nice where you use a Segway to get around the Nice promenade and see an introduction to the city. [The ship offers the excursion, and I've seen various websites that also offer it, presumably from the same company, e.g. http://www.magicaljourneys.com/France/tours-france-nice-segway.html ]

Has anyone done this? Is it recommended? We're in Nice from 7:00 AM to midnight, so it seems like there would be ample time afterward to visit Eze, Monte Carlo, and other spots.

We are in Monte Carlo in June, and I was considering booking the Segway tour independently as we have three teenagers with us. Wish our cruise line was offering to coordinate as the website for the Segway reservations did not appear to be a direct booking, but rather an agency. We did a night Segway tour in Paris a year or so ago and had a great time. Also interested in hearing from anyone who has booked the Nice tour, particularly through the on-line agency.
